Did I hear correctly that 'Ohana has removed their prawn skewers from the menu? That would be very disappointing. That was one of our favorite parts of the meal. Especially for my DS10 and DS8.

No more Prawn skewers which I know disappoints many people. I never ate the prawns much but I do like the new shrimp better. They are served in a dish with a sauce and veggies and are still peel and eat.

Whahhhh, whahhhh...I had just forgotton about the skewers...Whahhh, whahhh...

I agree with danzzz that the new sauteed shrimp is good, but I disagree that they are better. The skewered shrimp was so spicy and juicy and messy, ohhhhh what did they do...Bwahaaaaa,bwahaaaa.

What a bummer! Hard to believe they did that.

What kind of sauce is on the shrimp? I assume these are much smaller shrimp too?

I never had the original shrimp, as we just found 'Ohana on our trip last year - but I can vouch for how amazingly yummy the new shrimp are! AllEars lists them as "Spicy-sweet and sour shrimp". I just remember them as Delicious! :goodvibes

I stole this picture off of the Disney Dining Food thread so you could see the size of the shrimp (hope no one minds)!

Never had the old version, but the new one is kinda' messy and hard to peel. DH didn't like them, but once I fought through peeling the sticky-sauced shells, I thought the shrimp were tasty.

Truthfully, dealing with the sticky sauce probably results in fewer consumed shrimp. I know DH and I love grilled/skewered shrimp and would likely have eaten a lot more than we did the shrimp dish.
