I read the menu from allearsnet - 3 foot skewers!? So what exactly do you get with this meal? All the starters or only a choice? And how does this skewer thing work? Is this an all you can eat type of thing where you can request more of a particular thing...? I noticed that dessert isn't included in the price (bummer).

This looks like fun for my family (Me, DH, Dad and his GF) - what do you think?

You can get as much as you want of everything that is served, except from the desert menu. After you sit down they just bring all the appetizers and salads and you can eat as much as you want. They then come around with the skewers and give you a bit off of each of thoses. You can ask for more of anything. At the end you get a nice desert of pinapple with caramel dipping sauce ( I don't know if you can get more of that). Then you can order off the desert menu if you want. We have never been of a mind to do so after all of the food though.

I have only experienced O'Hana's once, but here is what I remember. We sat at a round table and in the middle of that table was a spinning thing. They bring out all the appetizers on the menu and put them on the spinny thing (family style) everyone shares. Of course they will bring you as much as you want. I think the salad may be served individually.

The meats are brought out on skewers and the servers will give you as many servings of the particular meat off the skewer as you want.

For dessert they do serve cut pineapple with carmel sauce for dipping at no charge. We did sample one of their dessert and wished we had saved the money and just went with the pineapple.

HTH!

Yes, the sides are brought out when you first sit down and placed on a lazy susan in the middle of the table. Your family shares off of those, and you are welcome to get refills of anything - just ask your waiter.

Your waiter will also get your drink orders (sodas included in price, I believe), and then bring around the meat on the skewers - they will slide off however many you want of each meat, or none at all if you don't want it. You can eat this until you are stuffed, as well.

When you are finished, you are served pineapple and warm carmel sauce to dip it in. You can also get seconds on this, we did ;) I consider that dessert, and really after eating all the other stuff, didn't eat too much of it - an additional dessert would have been too much, though they do have a menu of additional ones if you so desire.

You are also served coconut bread when the hostess seats you to munch on until your waiter brings your sides =)

WE LOVE IT!

Once you eat all your appetizers, salad, sides, meats, and pineapple... it's pretty hard to find space to eat any desserts, especially considering the main event is huge to begin with.

I also consider the pineapple and caramel sauce the dessert. Oh, and before the pineapple they'll come out and give you nice hot damp towels so you can wipe your hands! That part's the best of the evening since it's sometimes really cold in the restaurant!

'Ohana is our whole family's favorite. We have to do at least 1 dinner there everytime we go to WDW.
Enjoy.

The pineapple is my most favorite part - they do bring seconds!! YUM!!

We LOVE this restaurant. The peanut dipping sauce is awesome!! The only item I've never been crazy about is the steak - just not cooked enough - I know I could probably request it be cooked longer, but honestly, there's plenty of other yummy things to eat that it's not that big of a deal.

Pineapple and caramel are two of my favorite things but I've never put them together! I will *have* to make a PS to do this now. I hope it works out! I'm thinking a day at MK, then take a monorail ride to the Poly, then monorail back to MK for MVMCP. By that time the park will have "transformed" into a winter wonderland. And it makes for a good excuse to ride the monorail!

Wish me luck for these PS's!

You guys are making my mouth water. This is a tradition for us the first night we arrive at WDW. This year we have two non park days so we are going after a day at DTD and the outlets. Can't wait. Its also the last day of MVMCP, so hopefully we will be able to see the special Fireworks.

Hey, speaking of the sauces--does anyone miss the barbeque sauce they used to bring out with the appetizers? I love the peanut sauce, the "fruit" sauce is ok, and now they have this green sauce that I'm not too fond of. I used to dip EVERYTHING in the barbeque sauce (it was similar to the sauce on the honey coriander wings).
Does anyone miss this as much as me or am I just a freak? :D
