I know this isn't specifically a WDW question, but this is the place where the Ohana fans hangout. :teeth: We're not really interested in dining there for dinner. We can walk to a Texas de Brazil, plus I'm not a big carnivore. That said, the peanut sauce in the noodles & used as a dip has me intrigued. Anyone know of a chain restaurant that serves the same sauce in noodles & as a dip for chicken, etc.? We live between Miami & Ft. Lauderdale. If anyone knows of a non-chain in this area that serves it, that would be even better. I really want to try it. TIA

Google "ohana peanut sauce recipe" and you'll get several recipes. They are not all exactly the same, so you might have to play with it to get the one that you like the most, but that might save you the trouble of having to hunt down another restaurant's version and -- hopefully -- get you something that is very close to the real thing.

We fairly often use the internet recipes for the noodles and the chicken wings (but with chicken breasts), and they are really good. Not exactly 'Ohana at home, but close enough when we're sitting up in NC and wanting to be at WDW!

This is the reciepe i use it is probally the one i found that is closest. You will have to adjust the amounts

Thanks to both of you. :) The peanut sauce looks fairly easy to make. Are the noodles easier to make than the recipe makes them appear? With a bad back & bad knees, I can no longer stand long enough to make recipes that are time consuming. I'd love to try them, but that recipe may be more than I can handle. :(

I re-ask myself that same question every time I think I want to make the noodles! There are admittedly several moving parts since you're making the sauce from scratch, but it's more about the multiple ingredients than the difficulty in putting them together once you have them. At that point, it's pretty easy. I'm not a chef (aspiring, maybe?!), but I have come to appreciate the benefits of "mis en place" and having everything I need put together in the right amounts before I start actually cooking. Makes life a lot easier and whole lot less messy (says the dad with two kids who like to help!).
