We have an adr at 'ohana on Dec 15 at 6:25. Dh really wanted to stay at the Poly and we're not this trip so we figured even if we could eat there that would be nice. Our adr is the last night before we leave the next (late) morning and we don't want to be out too late with our little ones 2.5 and just about 6. We have plans to go to DTD that evening but wonder if with a 6:25 adr if that would really work. Would you keep the reservation since I've heard they're pretty quick and cab it to DTD or pick a different resort rest.? If you'd choose another one would you have one to recommend? I've thought of just eating at Earl of Sandwich or someother place at DTD but wonder how crazy the restuarants will be there on a Sat night...

Have you ever been to Whispering Canyons at WL? It's an all you can eat barbecue with activities for the kids much like Ohana. I believe you could get a launch from CR.

Thanks for the idea! They're solidly booked right now but I can certainly keep trying!

I don't think it's going to workout for you to go to DTD after Ohanas. It's a long meal. Plus if your not seated immediately you might not be at your table until 7pm by the time your out of Ohanas it might be 8:30, by the time you hop a bus to DTD it will be 9pm already.

How about eating in the Rainforst Cafe in DTD. It's not my favorite meal, but my boys love it. DH and I can actually get to sit and eat while the kids enjoy the surroundings. You have to call the restaurant directly for reservations, the number is 407 827 8500.

The restaurant was crowded when we arrived, but we were seated immediately. They put us at a table in the corner and my DH complained that he wanted to have some entertainment for the kids and they quickly found a table for us right in front of the elephants. The meal was okay, we were happy to just sit and relax while the kids had entertainment.

We went to DTD on our last Saturday night back in September. I may never do DTD on a Sat. night again. It was CRAZY, especially at World of Disney. If you don't like crowds, make new plans for Sat. night. If you don't mind crowds, and like lots of action, you may be OK, though. BTW, we've always enjoyed RFC at DTD.

What we did to avoid major crowds, was to get to DTD by 4pm. Did our shopping. I bring a fold-up Totes shopping bag with a zipper and put all our purchases in there so it's easy to carry. Then we headed over to the RFC by 5:30. We had 6:15 reservations and they said come on in. No wait. We walked around briefly after dinner. My son loves the fountain near the xmas store on the way to the bus stop.

I've found that the crowds really get bad in the evening hours, after dinner.

Thank you to all of you for your wonderful insight and suggestions. I love this board! I hadn't even thought of RFC nor have we ever been to one. SO I called (thank you for the #--talk about convenience!) and got a reservation for 6 at 5:30. My original plan was to eat and then walk and shop. But now that I know better :rotfl2: we'll get there early, shop, eat and then if we want to walk more/shop more we'll do that but at our leisure and we can go when we want with no pressure. Plus the kids can play with their potato head/my little pony if they get too squirmy! Thank you again!!

Great idea! I'll have to remember this one. :)

Having been there last Saturday night-- I highly approve of your plan of attack. It was insane! Do go early to leave after you dine.
