will be there 4 days - so only 3 rope drops

can't decide between these meals for my 2 girls - we'll be with another family, and all my travel companions are basic, "safe" eaters - no seafood, no dressing, no sauces.... you get the idea... boring! As the other family has older kids, they are leaving the character meal selection to me

OHana breakfast - They really like Lilo & Stitch (but we saw them at AK in the fall & I assume we'll see them again)

Chef Mickey dinner - They like the classic characters, but Chef Mickey is so open and loud-ish (but Mickey & Minnie was actually the request by my youngest)

Crystal Palace breakfast - I like the idea of being in the park before everyone else (we are not big Pooh fans though)

My vote is CM...although you can't beat the food at Ohana (my mouth's watering thinking about it)...If it was just adults, then Ohana, hands down. But something about Mickey and his friends coming around just says "we're at Disney". Also, my dd's loved the sundae bar!!

Either choice is great, though:thumbsup2 !! Have fun!

My family and I have been to all three multiple times and like them all.

Chef Mickey's buffet, classic, fun and great interaction with the characters. Although it can get very loud[/U it has Mickey!!

Ohana's: sit down family style meal, love this place for both breakfast and dinner. The food has always been good. Haven't seen the Lilo & Stich characters however. We will in January though. Can't wait.

Crystal Palace: good buffet, nice place and it's really great to be in the park. We usually do dinner here. We love Pooh bear too.

I think if I had to rate them it would be CM 1st (because it is my DD's favorite)/ Ohana 2nd/ Crystal Palace 3nd. I think your friends will enjoy any of them actually. You can't go wrong with whichever one you choose.

Have a nice trip!!!

When we go we always eat at Chef Mickeys:) never has been too loud for us but that is my opinion.

Our last trip in May 06 we ate at Ohana's :) for breakfast and the food was good, we are not big bk eaters except my dh likes bk but myself and kids (ages 18,13)could eat a package of peanut butter crackers and be set. We saw Lilo, Stitch, and Mickey. Lilo was in a seperate part of the resturant and we make pics with her. Stitch and Mickey came to our table and said hello and did autographs and pictures.

This year we are trying the CP :) for lunch my niece will be 20 months old and she loves the Pooh and Tigger show and also Mickey Mouse and friends. Plus my cousin and her family will be going for the first time and her son is 4 and he loves Pooh and his friends. Besides them and mine we have two other 9 yr. old girls.

We also ate for the first time last year and will re visit this year LTT for supper with Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, and Pluto we enjoyed the food and the interaction with the kids was wonderful :) and they took time for pics and came back to our table several times.

we have never had a bad experience with any characters during our visits to wdw never have felt rushed at any of the resturants. not to say we may not have liked the food and all of them but for the most part we have been really pleased.

I've never been to Crystal Palace so I can't say anything about that. However, between Chef Mickey's and 'Ohana's I would definitely go with 'Ohana's. We tried Chef Mickey's for breakfast once (never again) and 'Ohana's for breakfast has become a must-do every trip now. Chef Mickey's had poor character interaction and a messy buffet when we were there. It took forever to get all the characters over and Goofy and Minnie didn't even come to our table period. I had to get a picture with Goofy on the way out as I saw him happen to be standing near the entrance/exit and never saw Minnie. The buffet was kind of gross. Syrup was everywhere, running low on food etc.
'Ohana's on the other hand, is absolutely lovely and has been every time we have dined there. The characters are great and what I love the most is that it is not a buffet. It's nice because you don't have to worry about missing characters when you're up getting food and just not having to get up in general is nice. The food is great. First they bring out a fruit platter and bread and then the hot breakfast items. The view is spectacular. 'Ohana's is basically all windows and so you can see the Seven Seas Lagoon and Cinderella Castle. Also, you can't beat seeing Mickey Mouse in his Hawaiian shirt and lei! :thumbsup2

I like 'Ohana, but I would rule it out unless you're staying at the Poly. It's not going to be convenient to go to another resort extremely early in the morning to still make rope drop. You only have three mornings so I wouldn't give up a rope drop for breakfast. CP for the first breakfast seating would be great if you aren't going to be out late the night before and don't mind getting up an hour earlier. My family doesn't like to eat a big breakfast early though so we've only done that once. We enjoy breakfast foods, but at more of a brunch time, LOL. We'll do the last breakfast seating usually. CP's latest breakfast seating is 10:30, which cuts into park touring time on a short trip, I think. Chef Mickey's dinner would be most convenient, so I'd probably choose that one. It would be even better if you could fit it in on arrival night... not only would you get meeting the main characters out of the way right off the bat, but you wouldn't be messing with any of your morning touring time either.

We love CP breakfast and we are trying Ohana breakfast for the first time next month. CM dinner was horrible, the character interaction was awesome but the food was terrible

I was kind of thinking the same.

we are going to AK on arrival day, so I thought may be a later dinner

I don't know how much time to allow from AK to Contemporary - that would be a direct trip - no TTC, I think

Is Minnie just "usually" there or is she always there?

If you're taking the bus from AK to the Contemporary it will take you straight there, meaning you don't need to transfer anywhere, but it may make a stop on the way. The MK area deluxe resorts usually share a bus but I don't know who the CR is sharing with right now. I think when we went AK to CR the first stop was either the TTC or CR. It will only be about a 20 minute ride, but I'd plan to be at the bus stop 45 minutes prior to your ADR to allow enough time to wait for a bus if necessary and enough time to check in for your ADR. If AK closes at 5:00 I'd probably make the ADR for 6:00ish.

We've been to CM's three times and saw Minnie every time.

I cannot comment on Ohana's because we have never eaten there. However, in 2006 we stayed at BCR and had a 7:00 AM ADR at CM. I thought that I would have to call a cab but when I asked at the desk they told me that a bus would pick me up so we were out there at 6:30AM and the bus dropped us off at the bus stop at CR. We loved it but being that early it made it easy to walk to MK for AM EHM.

We also ate breakfast at the CP and of all the character meals I loved this one for breakfast. The character interaction and the food selection was excellect, plus you get to enter the park early!

We have tried a variety of character meals.
CM for dinner. The way it was set up it was loud. We also felt rushed food blah.
Breakfastaurus no longer there. We are thinking about trying Tusker house.
1900 Park at grand floridian. Exceptional breakfast. A big variety of characters and we didn't feel rushed.
CP another great breakfast the interaction between characters and guest was great. They get the kids up and dancing around the room. The settining is beautiful.

When leaving the Animal Kingdom the buses would then stop to pick up guests at Blizzard Beach since they share that route, however after that they go right to the Contemporary.

Chef Mickey's is the best! Can't compare to anything else .In my opnion no resturant spell Disney like Chef Mickey's. :thumbsup2

doing all 3 this year, but ALL for dinner :thumbsup2

O'hanas :thumbsup2 Best Friends Breakfast is the best!!!
The Atmosphere is very pleasent and pretty. There is Good Character
interaction--Lilo, Stitch, Mickey, Pluto and we also saw Minnie there
last trip (all Characters are wearing Hawaiian styled Clothes with Leis)
Food is very good--love the Juice--I must drink 4 glasses every trip.
The Poly is easy to get to on the day you head to MK--just hop off the
bus and onto the Monorail-very easy--then after breakfast
hop back onto the Monorail to MK.
We've ate at CM and it was very loud and
I can't enjoy my meal when things are loud.
Hope you have a Great Trip!!

We are eating here on our trip next month and our reservations are at 8:10am. What time do you think we could get to MK if I request the bill at the beginning of the meal? What time should the ADR be if we wanted to make rope drop, and would the bus get us there in time? Thanks for any help you can give!! :)

If it's a quick trip and you are planning a day in MK - CP is a no brainer. It would be convenient and the breakfast buffet is awesome. The kids will like having their own little buffet with kids stuff.

My favorite character is Mickey but I really enjoy greeting the characters from the 1,000 acre woods. Tigger is usually very interactive and everyone loves to give Pooh a hug. I think you might be surprised how much fun those characters are.

We have done O'Hana too and if I had the time, it would be hard choosing between the two. They bring your food to you here, which makes a little more relaxing. And, the view is very pretty in the morning.

Can't comment on CM.

I hope you have fun deciding.

I have read several rave reviews about the juice is it like an orange juice flavor or something different. We will arrive at WDW in 5 days and we have a BK with Friends next Thursday. The only juice I drank on ocassion is Apple but I have read so many great things about this juice. For breakfast I usually just get a sprite.

Thanks, Shannon

All the choices are great, but we always consider Crystal Palace as a "must do" for every trip! It always makes our ADR list (sometimes twice!)

Have fun! :)
