Hello!

All things included - 1) Food for regular eating 7 year old boys (Not picky, love chinese, mexican but but not going to eat a plate of asparagus)... 2) Atmosphere in restaurant and 3) Things to see at the hotel....would you pick Boma or Ohana for dinner?

We have never been to AKL. Is it cool to walk around or do you just see a couple giraffes here and there? Or is the entertainment during dinner better at Ohana? Trying to weigh all the factors and CAN NOT make a decision.

THANK YOU!!!

I'll let others comment on Ohana but I certainly think Boma would fit the bill perfectly based on those criteria. The AKL is the best resort to spend time exploring, bar none in my opinion--particularly if you have some daylight to view the savannah.

Boma is just a buffet. As an AKL owner have eaten there for breakfast and dinner. The food is very good. Nice variety, and plenty of options for non adventurous eaters.
AKL is a great resort for exploring. Boma itself has no other entertainment.

I have never been to Poly, but we are doing Ohana for dinner this year and look forward to it and exploring Poly. We'll probably go early so we can all have our first (gasp) dole whips.

Boma absolutely has entertainment for Dinner... while it is not constant they have African drummers in a parade which come around every hour (or about)

If your kids love chinese, they are probably going to love 'Ohana. Even my picky kid LOVED it. he did not eat veggies or noodles or potstickers or wings but he ate his weight in steak and they brought him a big bowl of mac and cheese to go with it. He also DEVOURED the brownie cupcake with marshmallow frosting and m&m's they brought but also tucked into my bread pudding as well. The food has an asian flair to it and I think if they like noodles and dumplings and teriyaki they will be in heaven. The Poly is a gorgeous resort but I'm not sure there is a whole lot to see there unless you are there around fireworks time - then you can see the fireworks and the water pageant.

Boma is an old favorite of mine and the breakfast was not as great as I remembered. It was good but I enjoyed 'Ohana more (for dinner, which I realize is not an entirely fair comparison). I think for atmosphere in the restaurant, 'Ohana wins... there are great views of the castle at some tables, and activities for the kids. I think for atmosphere in the resort, AKL wins as you can view the animals. that is pretty hard to beat. Although when we stayed at the Poly for a few days on our last trip, we walked out into the garden an Moana was just there playing around with kids. Not sure how common that is though!

My kid has been to both for dinner (just not Boma for dinner with me) and he would choose 'Ohana.

I'm basing my opinion on the resort... and AKL has sooooo much to offer. After dinner at Boma (which is wonderful) you could go out to the savannah to look at the animals, sit by the campfire, walk to the pool area and check out the flamingos. Just a ton to see and do... enjoy!

Boma. Night vision goggles, are fun. Depending on what time your Adr, is you could check the schedule to do an activity before dinner also

Boma - food quality/selection and atmosphere are better than 'Ohana. We've done both for dinner and my boys much prefer Boma. The servers get a conga line going with the kids plus you can go watch animals before or after your meal.

This board is always so helpful! Thank you for the input. I am feeling better about Boma after reading your comments. We have a reservation at Boma on our first night there (no park that day) and Ohana at 5:30 on the next day. This would mean leaving a park early. I am leaning towards Boma so we don't have to cut a day short just for Ohana. Thinking about cancelling my Ohana reservation does give me anxiety...haha! I may take a few more days to think about it but love what you have said about Boma so far.
