Which would you think would be more fun for our 8yo son to as our departure day farewell meal?

He likes Stitch, but REALLY likes Alice in Wonderland, so I am leaning toward 1900 PF. On the other hand, I've heard the food and atmosphere is better at Ohana... we've never eaten at either for any meal, so we are having a hard time choosing :confused3

The breakfast food is fine to good at PF (including an omelet station). So I wouldn't worry about the food comparison. Your decision should probably boil down to the characters and buffet/family style serving (PF buffet, O'hana family style).

Since your son likes Alice, the Mad Hatter at PF is usually very silly and funny (Alice is there too, Mary Poppins, Pooh, Tigger usually). We've had good character interaction at O'hana too though.

Whichever you choose, we always like to go early on our departure with a character meal before the restaurants get into their busy groove later in the morning.

We much prefer Ohana's. Found food and service at 1900PF poor on both occasions we have been for breakfast. Tigger, Pooh, Mad Hatter, Alice and Mary poppins were fine but a bit of an eclectic mix to be honest.

Love Ohanas. Food is ok, not outstanding but ok. DH and DS haven't stopped talking about the juice, I loved the breads.

You are given leis before the meal and then visited by Mickey, Pluto, Lilo and Stitch. They were some of the best characters we have ever seen. Lilo plays sweet and Stitch plays naughty.

We prefer 'Ohana mainly because the food is brought to your table rather than going up to the buffet to get it. Plus the kids get to march in a little parade with Stitch, Lilo, Mickey and Pluto, and the venue has a lovely view of the Seven Seas Lagoon--especially if you get a table next to the window. :thumbsup2

I have never been to 1900 PF (we don't do buffets) but we LOVED our recent breakfast at Ohana's and I would whole-heartedly recommend it to anyone! We thought the food was fantastic, the service was fast and friendly, and the character interaction was top-notch. The characters spent quite a bit of time at each table and were very funny.

We love both and I agree that the atmosphere at O'hana's is great but we love the Mad Hatter at 1900. We have always had a blast at the breakfast at 1900 and if your son like Alice in Wonderland alot I would pick that one.

We did both last year and I much, much preferred 'Ohana. I thought the food was better and I like family-style better than buffet -- don't have to worry about missing a visitor while up getting food.

We have not done 1900 for breakfast so I cannot comment on that but we have enjoyed O'hana several times. The food has always been good and it is nice not to have to go up to a buffet but just stay at the table. It is served family style. You may get more of a selection at 1900 I don't know but O'hana is basic breakfast food including my Mickey Waffles.:goodvibes

See, now that you have all this feedback, it's clear you should do both!

Ohana - went 2x in Oct. 2009... absolutely great food, especially the warm pineapple-coconut bread (moist and delicious). Mickey, Pluto, Lilo, Stitch.

1900 Park Fare - went 1x in Oct. 2009. Food was very good, some unusual items like strawberry soup (Mary Poppins' favorite), lobster eggs benedict plus you can get a custom omelet, and ice cream (yes ice cream for breakfast). The Mad Hatter was very loud and funny. Mary Poppins was so authentic, I'd swear she jumped out of the movie screen. Also, Alice in Wonderland, Tigger and Pooh.

We have not been impressed with PF. On our recent February trip, we tried Ohana breakfast for the first time and LOVED it! I think our ressie was for 7:20 so we were one of the first families there. Great, fresh food, great character interaction also. We will definitely be going back here for breakfast again!

We had a party of 6 and ate at Ohana for our farewell breakfast last June. We absolutely LOVED it! Our DD8 and DD4 loved to march with the characters. They took a lot of time at our table and Pluto signed my DD4s Plutopluto: hat, and it was a fabulous ending to our trip! The family style service was great, and the food was good too. We loved the juice but can't remember what it was?! Hope this helps.:thumbsup2

Reading along and feeling the need to add the flip side! Our family so so much preferred 1900 PF b'fast! At Ohana's we had a long wait and our server left a lot to be desired. The food she brought out the first time was fine, typical, fine. But we asked for seconds and when she finally remembered to get it (we had to ask twice) it was kinda cold. We would have sent it back but it took her so long to get it that by the time it came no one really wanted it anymore! Lilo and Stitch themselves were great but the overall take on the experience, was we'll skip that one for the next couple trips! Now at 1900 PF, everyone loved their food, everyone got to get exactly what they wanted because of the buffet, the Mad Hatter was awesome! Alice was sweet and Mary Poppins took a lot of time talking to my quadriplegic brother who was thrilled! She really paid him a lot of attention and he was so happy! That restaurant has already been requested for next time and we don't even have a trip planned right now! :dance3:

We preferred 'Ohana over 1900. We had better food & service at 'Ohana. The characters also spent more time at our table, at 1900 the characters seemed quite rushed. The family style atmosphere of 'Ohana makes it much more relaxing. Having to get up and go to the buffet, wait in line at the buffet, worry about missing a character while at the buffet, etc. makes 'Ohana a much more enjoyable breakfast.

Thanks everyone! Ok Ok... it looks like we might just have to find a way to do both. Maybe I just need to add a day to the trip :dance3:
