Ohana on Epcot day or No?

I currently have ADR for the evening of our epcot day. There is a chance we will leave epcot for a break in the afternoon then head to dinner, but if I decide to plan for the full day without a break should we still leave for Ohana? Or find something in the park?

I'd plan my ADR for somewhere in the WS instead that day. Tokyo Dining and Teppan Edo are better than Ohana anyway.

I would not leave Epot for dinner. So many good places to eat there, I would plan dinner and stay for Illuminations.

As much as I like Ohana, I would stay at Epcot, or do the Ohana meal and not go back to Epcot. Thats a lot of travel time!

We did 'Ohana after an Epcot day the last time, but we went back to the hotel quickly before we made our way to the Poly for dinner. Wasn't bad because we were planning on hitting MK afterwards.

I was thinking with the monorail it wouldn't be that bad of a trip, but I haven't done a big WDW trip since 04. What would you suggest? I have a 5 year old and an 8 year old. Other than Ohana we have Trex, CRT, Tusker House and lunch at BOG booked.

Epcot to Poly via monorail is going to be about 15 minutes from Epcot to the TTC, then a 5-10 minute walk to Ohana. Add in wait time for a monorail, and you're looking at about a half hour of travel. Add time if you transfer to a resort monorail at TTC instead of walking.

So it is still a significant chunk of time each way.

We did Ohana the same day we did Epcot and to be honest we decided not to do that again. We enjoy trying all the different foods in Epcot and when we got to Ohana we just weren't that hungry :). We now have it scheduled for our AK day. We do have Tusker House for breakfast and will probably eat lite for lunch. AK has a early close that day as well and not a lot that we might miss if we left early.

Garden Grill, Teppan Edo, Via Napoli at Epcot. Five minute walk to BC for Beaches & Cream or Cape May Café.

I wouldn't leave the Epcot area with so many great options. We love Biergarten and also enjoy Le Cellier and Rose and Crown. And right outside the back entrance of Epcot is Captain's Grille at YC. Not much to the ambiance but we had a fabulous dinner there.

You have to allow 30 minutes just on the monorail from Epcot to the Poly. That does not count any other time lost getting to the monorail and transferring at the T&TC, or time in the event the monorail breaks down (it does lately). I think at least an hour, and that does not account for any backlog at 'Ohana.

I am not a fan of leaving parks just to eat unless you are done for the day in that park.

Thanks all. Which restaurant is the best bang for your buck in Epco? We are on the dining plan. Looking for good food, but also good experience for the kids.

If you're on the DDP, then all the TS restaurants are 1 TS credit except for Le Cellier or M. Paul's. PPs have given some good options. Have a look at the menus online to see which appeals to your family's tastes.

We really liked Akershus, and we have boys too :)

It's a character meal (lots of princesses), and a little noisy, but it's a great venue and the cold food bar was a very nice surprise. Some say the food is "ok," but I really enjoyed the ravioli.

In EP, with 1 TS credit, I would recommend Via Napoli (our favorite!), Biergarten, or Garden Grill. You can also walk out of EP through the International Gateway and eat at one of the EP resort restaurants (which tend to be better than park restaurants IMHO). At the EP resorts, I would recommend Trattoria al Forno on the Boardwalk. At night, on the Boardwalk, they also have magicians and jugglers and carnival games - it's really fun!
