Ohana on arrival day

Our flight is scheduled to land at 7:11pm and we are staying at the Polynesian. What time would you make your dinner reservations for at Ohana? I was thinking 9pm.

If you are taking Magical Express, I wouldn't assume arrival at the Poly before 9PM at the earliest.
If you are renting a car and getting your own bags, I wouldn't assume arrival at the Poly before 9PM at the earliest.

And both of those assume your flight is on time, has an open gate waiting, no delays coming off the plane, isn't at the furthest reaches af the concourse.

I think making ANY ADR with a 7:11PM landing is a big risk you will miss and pay the $10pp fee.

I certainly wouldn't do it for the first night if that's what time you are arriving. Everything would have to happen perfectly for you to just make it in time. Any delay in flight or traffic or waiting for a ME bus or anything and making it will be in question. Not exactly the best way to start your trip. Save it for the first morning or plan dinner on another night.

Holy Stress! I would not book any ADR with an arrival at 7 PM.

Way too much that can go wrong. I'd just wing it that night without an ADR...QS when you get there, or stop somewhere and eat off-site if you have a car.

Flight arrives at 7:11 (perhaps, if there are no delays)
Making your way through the airport to ME: monorail to the main terminal, maybe a bathroom stop (20-30 min)
Wait time to get onto ME and for the bus to fill so you can leave (we've waited up to ½ hour before)
Transportation time for the drive from MCO to your resort: ½ to 1 hour. Will be longer side if your resort is not the 1st stop.

I have been told that a total of 2 hours allotted for ME is a good rule of thumb.

If ME is delivering your luggage and you do the online resort check-in, you could get off the bus and go straight to dinner. If you have your heart set on 'Ohana dinner upon arrival, I wouldn't schedule it any earlier than 9:30 pm. To avoid potential ADR charges for a no show and to relieve the stress of making that ADR time, I'd probably opt for Captain Cook's that night with a dole whip dessert...maybe a drink on the Trader Sam's Terrace.

**This is assuming you are taking ME. If you are renting a car, your arrival time would be earlier.

If you're staying at the Poly and really want Ohana on arrival night, I would look at the In Room Dining option. It will take 30 minutes or so to arrive, but a lot less stress if you don't make it.

Is this a joke thread? Do you really expect to make that ADR? You are tempting the flight delay gods, the magic express bus breakdown gods and the heart attack/ kidney stones / aneurysm gods too.

We have Ohana on our arrival night late at 9:50pm. Hoped for a little earlier but thats what was available and on our west coast time its only 6:50pm. We haven't booked flights yet but am planning on arriving either morning or early afternoon so should not be a problem.

Order the dinner as room service if you really want to eat Ohana food on arrival night. Even if you land on time - making a 9pm dinner reservation isn't likely.
