Hey everyone!
For those of you that have eaten at 'Ohana I had a few questions:

Are the chicken wings the same as the sticky wings at Kona?

What is the drink description of Lapu Lapu? I haven't been able to find out what is in it.

Does the bread come with some sort of butter? I really like the idea of the pineapple macadamia nut butter at Kona but we cancelled our Kona Dinner res.

If DH hates embarassing type restaurants, is he gonna hate this place?? I.E all the extra stuff they do is voluntary right? :rotfl2: He's 6'5 and pooh-ish so I can just see them trying to MAKE him do anything, but still. He's not much on humorous, public display antics which is why we aren't eating at WC. So I'm hoping 'Ohana isn't quite as... um... playful. The kids and I would love it but I don't want to make him miserable.

Thanks for you help! :thumbsup2

If DH hates embarassing type restaurants, is he gonna hate this place??No, they only have quick activities for the kids...coconut races and a little dance/parade around the restaurant. Adults are not invited!

:goodvibes Thanks so much! Glad to hear about the wings and that the activities are for kids only. That'll put hubs at ease.

Really? Fruit juices? I swear, the ones I've had have always tasted like "rum in a pineapple". And I'm not saying that's bad, as I always order one. It's just one of the strongest drinks I've ever had.

My husband ordered it. When I answered above, he was sitting right behind me. I actually typed out "rum" and asked him what was mixed with the rum in the pineapple. He said it wasnt rum, it was vodka. I was surprised too. But I suppose fruit juices mix better with vodka than with rum. Maybe he is wrong. Here is what I found on the web......

Lapu Lapu
Myers rum and tropical juices served in a pineapple and topped with Bacardi 151

Originally Lapu Lapu was a guy...actually a Filipino chieftan who resisted the invasion of Ferdinand Magellan...and it was Lapu Lapu & his people who actually defeated Magellan. He's considered a native hero in the Phillipines. That's your history lesson for the day

The pineapple bread at Ohana doesn't come with any butter. The bread at Kona is Hawaiian bread and is different from Ohana's. I've tried both breads from Ohana and Kona and trust me, the Ohana one is much nicer and would probably taste weird with butter!
