My DH, Myself and my 60 yo mom will be attending MVMCP on Sunday 12/8. We are staying at the Poly so I thought maybe we would try O'hana for dinner that night. After reading these boards, it sounds like the restaurant is geared more towards kids (I think it sounds fun!) and I want to make the "best" choice. We've never eaten at GF or for that matter even stepped foot inside, so my DH thought maybe we should eat there. Any reviews or input would be greatly appreciated.

A - LOOOOOOO - HA!!!!!!!! :)

O'hana means family! :) They gear the restaurant toward families with or without kids. :) I love it there.... the food is great, you never leave hungry, and the atmosphere is terrific. I look forward to eating there on every trip. Even last Feb. when we left the kids at my Mom's we still went to O'hana one night. :) They have a full bar and tons of specialty drinks... I had "sand in your pants" and it was soooo yummy! ;) The games they do for the kids don't bother me at all... I think they are really cute. ;) They have a sing along also, which is fun. :) It's like going to a big family dinner, everyone is a relative! :)

I also like dining at the GF. It's romantic and more quiet. At Narcoosee's they dim the lights and pipe in the music from MK during the fireworks. :) The food is very gourmet, and expensive, but I enjoy eating there also. :)

O'hana isn't really similar to the other two. As described, it is sort of loud and busy and lots of kids. You can get a somewhat more subdued meal there if you request a table away from the area where all the antics take place, but you'll still hear all of it.
Citrico's is a very nice spot-a bit more quiet and laid back than Narcoosee's. Narcoosee's is a bit more "busy" and noisy". In my opinion, it's sort of a blend between O'hana and Citrico's and would be my choice for the kind of meal you have in mind.
You should check out the menu site first, to be sure there is someting on the menu for all parties. And if you do Narcoosee's ask for Steve--a fine server whom we always request.

I agree that Narcoosee's would be a great choice. We enjoy both Citrico's and Narcoosee's but it is so nice to enjoy dinner while you look across the lake at the MK. After dinner you can walk right out to the boat dock and catch a launch to the MK although it will go to the Poly first. Or walk back through the main building and hop the monorail. Be sure to try the launches while you're staying at the Polynesian. They are a very relaxing form of transport to/from the MK from either resort.

Here's another vote for Narcoosee's! It is a short monorail ride from the Polynesian and then a short stroll through the beautiful GF lobby and grounds to the restaurant. The resort will be wonderfully decorated for the holidays, complete with an aromatic gingerbread house, setting the mood for the evening to come at MVMCP!

Whichever restaurant you choose....ENJOY! :D

Narcoossee's is lovely and though the menu is not huge, there is something for everyone. We had dinner there a few weeks ago and it was one of the best meals of the vacation.

Narcoose's would be a great choice, I agree with the above!

But I also like O'Hana's.. we have had dinner there three times, and we dont have children. We request a table by the window, and it is wonderful! the view is beautiful. yes it is noisy and they have kid games going on at some points during your meal, but as long as you arent sitting in the aisle.... you will have a great dinner, in a wonderfully themed restaurant!

If you are looking for a more refined dinner, then my pick is Narcooses!
We have also had dinner at Citricos 3 times, and it was excellent the first time, but we werent all that crazy about it the last two times we were there.
