I read this in another thread - http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1175313 and was wondering if anyone else knew anything about this.

Our "cousin" Wanda told us that they were changing the menu back in October..I HOPE SO or we will not be back!!!

Like I posted over on that thread to; I'm eating there in Dec, so this would affect my meal.

I would like to know too. we are going in October and haven't ever been before. If the food's no good I'm going to cancel.

Don't mean to hijack this thread but Tara, your dh looks like the plumber guy on desperate Housewives!!

I agree that I would love to know if they are changing the menu back. I love the shrimp!!

However, I would not cancel your reservation. Regardless of old menu/new menu, Ohana's is the best restaurant on Disney property (in my opinion)

Getting back to the important issues; does anybody know about going back to the Old Ohana menu???? Speak now or we will have to do the nasty to you.

We are going in late October and are curious about this too. I've eaten from both menus and enjoyed both. I love the Lazy Susan stuff, but I love those new potatoes too! I really didn't like the bread pudding (we just ate the ice cream and topping). We miss the pineapple dessert. I don't eat shrimp, so I really don't care what they do with that.

You know, you're right!! I never noticed that before. I'll have to tell him that when he gets home(I'll have to show him the post b/c he won't believe me if I tell him). He's a UPS guy and alot of people say he looks like someone, but they don't know who. Maybe it's Mike they are thinking of.

I really hope they do go back to the old menu.

Haven't been since they changed. They took away all the stuff we loved. Won tons, fried rice, grilled shrimp (don't like peeling our own when in a restaurant) & pineapple w/caramel.

Would definately return if they brought back what we loved about the place!

:teeth:
Maybe!!

Oh, no! Please don't take away the Bread Pudding!!!! It was SOOOOOOOOOOO scrumptious. It's the reason we are eating there instead of another choice we were considering for that night.

We're going to Ohana's in November for the first time - my DH wanted to eat there based on the menu on allearsnet - could someone elaborate for me what the old menu was, in case they change back to it? I'd just like to tell him the possibilities. Thanks!

I'd like to know about the old menu, too. This is a definite ADR on our next trip since I have read soooo many good reviews.

I'm pretty sure this is what the old menu was.

Salad w/ honey-lime dressing, (which is still there,) wontons filled with shrimp, (not the wonton chips,) fried rice, (instead of the potatoes,) green beans, (instead of the stir-fried vegetables,) and the chicken wings which are still there.

Then all of the skewers were the same, except instead of the sausage there was shrimp.

And the dessert was pineapple with caramel instead of the bread pudding.

I think I'd be happy either way. I never got to try Ohana before the menu changed, so about half of this would be new for me. I would be upset about the potatoes, (since I don't really like rice for some reason,) and bread pudding though.

Another question - Would they bring back the pineapple bread as well then? This is something I would've really liked to have tried.

The potatoes do look good. Are they? I don't like shrimp so I would prefer the sausages, but everyone else in my party would like the shrimp. Maybe they can bring back the shrimp & rice and keep the potatoes & sausages? Was the dessert slices of pineeapple that you dip in caramel? I thought I saw pics of that .

I'll tell you all in a few weeks when I get back whether I prefer the old or new menu. I do want the Prawns back though - No matter what. I'm actually looking forward to the potatoes & Dessert!

I love the CMs, but they say a lot of stuff that turns out not to be true in the long run. I treat WDW like I do my own company, when it's sitting in my hands I'll believe it.

I wish if this were true they were changing back before my September meal.

It would be cool if they not only brought back some stuff but kept soem stuff too.
Bring back the wontons and the fried rice (I miss both)
Keep the shrimp in this sauce (they were good in the skewers too but I think I like thme better now) and the potatoes.
Get rid of the wonton chips imo

I wonder why they changed the menu to begin with. Do you think it was a cost savings one way or the other?
