The original 'Ohana wontons were shrimp wontons...My daughters favorite and I'd be thrilled to see an incarnation of the old menu return.
yes, the original ones were shrimp wontons according to my memory. You really can't compare them to the "wontons" now, which are only fried wonton wrappers with no filling--pretty much just chips, and often seem stale.

Though the old ones are clearly a product made offsite that they just buy frozen, I think I like them better.
The old grilled shrimp were also peel and eat, as I recall. I liked them better, so am happy to hear they might be coming back. Less messy, and less dishes to contend with on the table!
The old rice dish was really good too, and I prefer it, though the potatoes are very yummy! They just seem pretty heavy to eat along with all the rest of the meal. (which is probably why they have these, keeps people from eating more expensive meats/shrimp, etc because they fill up faster on the rich potato dish)
I really wish they would get rid of that nasty sausage though. Yuck. I don't mind it being offered though, you certainly can't eat everything offered anyway, so I don't mind that there is one thing I don't eat when we are there.
Oh, and I love the bread pudding. It's really rich though, and the while the old pineapple was NEVER ripe enough, it was a nice ending to such a filling meal. Either way, I'm happy. I just wish they were more predictable as to the quality of the meat, and the cooking was more reliable as well. We love Ohana though, I have lost count of how many times we have eaten there.
