Just wanted to let everyone know-we ate at Ohana on Monday night, our server said that in 2 weeks the menu would be changing- so I, of course worried about the dessert, questioned her- 0she said that they were going back to the old grilled shrimp that people liked, and also the old fried won tons the bread pudding is staying!! So congratulations to all who wanted those items back!! have a great trip everyone going soon!

What about the dipping sauce and the salad. I'll be really sad if they take those away. I love the peanut dipping sauce and last week I ate two plates full of the salad. They could do without the sausage though and the wings.

Are the fried won ton's replacing something?

I hope that is true! I loved the tiger shrimp! We did used to love 'Ohana, but we did not enjoy it the last two years that we went. But.....if they are bringing the shrimp back, well then, maybe we will just have to go.

Not that I question what was told to you, but this has been said many many times in the past. I caution anyone from getting their hopes up as over the past few years I have been here there is a post like this at least every couple of months. While the changes mentioned are ones that are often asked for on these boards, this is unofficial...

All I am saying is no matter what the server said, don't hedge your bets on it. It's happened in the past where servers have been wrong and no changes have been made.

We also haven't been back to 'Ohana since the menu change. It used to be our 'must-do' for every trip. We *may* give it a try for our upcoming Feb trip. We have ADR's but may change our minds once we get there.

Now, if they have the skewered shrimp, potatoes, and bread putting, I'll be a happy camper!

Hi Just a question, what is the difference between the old shrimp and the current shrimp they are serving, I personally hate the peel and eat. But we love o'hanas.

Thanks

"Ohana is my favorite restaurant at WDW.

The new shrimp are smaller, in a dish with onions and bell peppers (if I remember correctly) and some sort of sauce. It is still peel and eat but I like them better than the skewered ones which I never eat.

I prefered the older menu my self but I like a couple things on the new menu, including the shrimp. I MUCH prefered the rice with the food at 'Ohana as opposed to the potatoes. I like the pineapple dessert better than the bread pudding and I liked the stuffed won ton about the same as the unstuffed.
I have 5 months until I get to visit again.

My DH and I loved the old grilled tiger shrimp and really hope it comes back. The new shirmp is okay, but much rahter have the grilled. I agree with another poster that we also liked the rice and pineapple and dipping sauce then the potatoes and bread pudding.

What are the stuffed wontons stuffed with?
We love this place!

I am not sure if it was ground pork and shrimp or some other seafood (crab maybe) but they were pretty good. Occasionally I could get a taste of seafood in them but not strong. I am not a seafood fan but ate a lot of those.

Thanks! I don't eat any seafood. I like the wontons they have now but I think most prefer the old. I guess we will see what comes of it all.

The peel n eat shrimp is a pain in the fingers. The old wontons were the BEST, and the bread pudding is heaven on a plate. If they'll just leave the salad alone - love that salad - I'll be one happy camper.

Back? The bread pudding has been there for a couple of years.

I would like to know about the won tons because I am allergic to shrimp (I assume all shellfish) which already leaves out one item, hopefully the wontons aren't seafood also because then there's another course I can't have.

We were also there Monday night and I thought it was good but not as good as I remember a couple of years ago. The salad was great and the potatoes were also good.

We were there in Sept. we loved the salad, dipping sauce and DH was a huge fan of the potatoes. Although he loves anything that has or is potatoes! The kids did pretty well there too. DS loved the desert.... drinking the banana sauces stuff straight from the little container!!
