Ohana menu change

I ate there for dinner on Wednesday Jan 23rd, and they also told me that the "changes" were coming that weekend. But I could already see some different things than when I ate there last February. I didn't get any wontons or bread - nothing! No sauces either, which I guess makes sense since there was nothing to dip in them. I got the salad, a bowl of vegtables, hot chicken wings, the potatoes, the shrimp in the bowl with sauce, and the meat that comes around on the sticks.

I really liked the potatoes - they were sliced differently than when I was there in February, but I actually liked this time's potatoes better since there were less onions in them (I HATE ONIONS), and less to pick at and remove. :)

The meats on the sticks was fine - shrimp, turkey, steak, and maybe one other - pork? The bread pudding and banana sauce was wonderful as always.

The shrimp in the sauce is my absolute favorite thing there, and if they remove it, there's no point going to 'Ohanas for me. They told me it was going bye-bye since shrimp was being grilled now. Reading this thread makes me wonder why I was skipped for bread and wontons both.

Honestly, my meal there this time was rushed, and the server barely said 2 words to me. Simply didn't feel so "family" this time around, really wasn't anything to write home about. They were already bringing new guests to my table before I even completely packed up to go. The whole experience was nothing special, which is sad, since I had some great servers and great atmosphere there in the past.

Oh well. :(

everything was the same except no chips...instead pinapple/coconut bread & instead of the sausafe there was grilled shrimp...in addition to the sweet & sour shrip they've always had.

They did bring out the dipping sauces with the meat. :thumbsup2

...potatoes were still there.

so no chips and still no wontons? I loved those wontons they had a while back! We ate there over Christmas and I did enjoy the chips too. Sad to hear that neither is there now.

Thanks for clearing things up:thumbsup2

Did you think the service and the meal was the same as before?? Also Is the bread as dry as people are talking about?? Thanks inadvance. We have a ADR for the first time in March and really hesitating to keep it or not.

We dined there on January 2 and the bread was dry and chewy if that makes sense. Concidering how much I used to love it, that was a real disappointment.
