Ohana kids menu???

I know that they have a kids menu, unfortunately I don't know what is on it. But, I do know that you have to ask for it, they won't automatically offer it to you.

Ohana is an all-you-can eat type place, so usually the kids eat from the same menu, the skewers and from the appetizers placed on the table. If you have picky children, you can ask for and usually receive any of the children's menu items that are offered at Kona Cafe. They are the usual children's items: chicken fingers, mac and cheese, peanut butter and jelly, etc. If you have a child under 3 and choose to order these type of items, you will be charged for them, since they won't be eating the all-you-can eat.

Grilled Cheese was also offered.

And since our kids didnt eat the all you can eat meal, they werent charged the full price for that. :D

Every time we eat at Ohana's DD gets a hot dog and fries. What ever is on the kids menu at Kona's is also available at Ohana's. It is no big deal and the CMs are very nice and helpful about it. DD was even offered a home made PB&J from the chef at Ohana's but she still chose the hot dog!

DS10 has always been able to get an order of chicken strips instead of the all you can eat. But our server in December did make quite a big deal out of it, trying to encourage Josh to "eat like a grown up" and bringing him his drink in a child's cup (while his younger sister's drink was in a regular glass). We treated it like he was just trying to be funny, which I believe he was, and tried to get Josh to laugh it off. I think he ended up feeling like maybe he had gone too far, Josh didn't eat much (due to a cold), so he offered to take his meal off our bill entirely.

FWIW we've never had a server say a word about the kid's meal any other time, and they are always happy to make DD a batch of unspicy shrimp. DS was embarassed this time though, and now isn't too keen on returning on our next trip.

Our Ohana server did not offer anything in lieu of the regular meal, and I didn't know to request it. You're in a better position -- just tell the server what YOU want to order for your child. Our server seemed very interested in padding our order and thus enlarging his tip. The only time he was friendly was when he tried to entice the kids/us to order expensive frozen drinks (we did) and desserts in addition to the pineapple. Since one of our kids had eaten like three bites and loved the pineapple, I asked for another (it IS all-you-can-eat, you know) and he acted like he was offended and tried to steer us toward another dessert.

Our server at Ohana has the dubious distinction of being my second least favorite Disney one. The first, in a landslide, was a real jerk at the now gone Land Grill. Our 5-year-old ordered a pizza, not realizing it would be a frou frou pizza. He was tired and hungry and started crying when he saw it. We asked our server if we could get something a little bit more traditional since it wasn't what he expected. Our server stuck his nose up in the air and said they only served California style pizza at the Land Grill. My son ended up eating some of my chicken and we stopped and got him something on the way back to our off-site resort.
