Hello everyone!

My wife and I are coming to WDW early April. We have booked an ADR for an early dinner at Ohana. The time we found is a bit inconvenient as it interferes with some other things we had planned, however we decided to go for it anyway as historically we’ve heard positive things. After looking at some recent reviews, Im questioning our decision as many people have reviewed it pretty bad recently, with multiple reports of people getting sick from the food. I was hoping for some opinions of recent experiences, and whether you thought it was worth the price for you.

Thank you in advance!

Although I’ve not been there in a long time, from reviews i don’t think the food is that exceptional. Sometimes I think the all you can eat aspect overshadows the quality of the food.
So, what’s more important, the things you wanted to do in the first place or a possibly mediocre meal?

IMHO, you are going to get opinions from “best meal ever” to “avoid at all costs”. Peoples’ opinions of what they consider decent food is pretty subjective And to me ultimately unreliable.

I was a bit uneasy, the discussions about being rushed and food quality. But honestly it was one of our best dinners that we had. However part of that was timing, my wife loved being able to watch the fireworks during our meal. All the food was perfect and we never felt one bit rushed at all.

It has been a tradition for us to go to Ohana to finish each of our WDW trip. We always enjoy the food there and watching our kids doing the coconut race is priceless.

"Worth it" is so subjective. The food isn't bad, the place is fun, and the view is nice. But for the price it falls under the category of "glad I did it once, but don't feel the need to go back". Like with any restaurant at Disney, my advice is always that you should try things for yourself at least once and form your own opinion!

Ohana is a must do for every trip for us, the ambience is like no other the food can be a little of a hit and miss sometimes but the good certainly out weighs the bad for us

Yes, it's worth the money at least once. It's in our rotation and we eat there every other trip or so.
Everything is OK... It gets high marks because of the Hawaiian theme, the view of the castle and fireworks.
It's basically an "Asian style" Brazilian Steakhouse.
The best thing on the menu is the bread pudding. IOO

Nope, not at all worth the money. The price they charge and the food they serve is laughable. Slimy wings, dry meat, dry potstickers. And our ADR was before 6pm! Im glad i used my DP credit cause had I paid OOP, i wouldve been ticked.

We had cancelled in the past due to bad reviews and finally tried it on the request of one of my daughters for her birthday. I loved it, so did she. On the other hand my husband and in-laws didn't like it (complained about the smoky taste -duh- and said the steak wasn't done enough, was too spicy, and didn't like peeling shrimp....all of these things you know going in, and the steak was fine and not spicy IMO).

I wouldn't cancel, I regretted cancelling every time I did, and it's worth trying it yourself. Plus the earlier the res the better - less chance of running late, and fresh food. I think it's a fun experience, we had a table view and it was a beautiful sunny evening. They have fun drinks, too. Also, we're not the type to find "worth" in eating a ton, so while I probably didn't eat my cost, I enjoyed what i had, but they will certainly let you eat to your heart's content.

Yes. Worth it.

You will find mixed reviews on Ohana- for every person that likes it, someone hates it. All I can say is that it is very inconsistent. We've gone a few times and loved it but after our last visit (October 2018), we decided not to go back for a while- it was rushed, service wasn't very good, and the food wasn't worth the price. If there are other things you'd rather do, I'd say cancel the Ohana ADR.

Well in 5 trips we have started our vacation with Ohana and our last nights meal has been at Ohana with a breakfast there in-between. For trip #6 the girls (11 and `19) have already requested the place.

10-12 years ago, I would have told you it's must-do and absolutely worth it. That has changed for us, with prices going up, menu items changing, and (what we feel) is a drop-off in the service. It's gone from our #1 restaurant at WDW down to one we'll do only every several trips. I would never tell someone not to go there - you will have a good meal. For us, it's nowhere as good of a meal as we used to have.

For our family it is worth it. I think you have to decide whether you want to pay for the experience or not. If you go to restaurants just for the food at Disney then there are probably some better priced options. However, if you love the whole ambience and overall experience of the meal then this is a place to go. The food is good, especially the noodles, dumplings, and salad. We usually get seconds of that. We typically go every year, but we did take a break once after a “bad” experience. We were rushed through our meal, even told if we didn’t grab the steak now they might not make it back again. In hind sight I should have spoken with a supervisor and asked for a different server, but we just chose to grumble and say we would never go back. We did go back because of our daughter after a couple of years and am happy we did.

We are doing it first time this trip. We were put off by some bad reviews before but we have the DDP for free this time and even if it's bad it can be our one and done and we were hoping to hit Trader Sam's too.
Less stressful than trying to pack good clothes for 2 credit restaurants too, I'm wearing my stretchy trousers! (Sorry, pants!)

Wife and I went for dinner one night while on our honeymoon. I had previously been there for breakfast and dinner, while she had never been there. We both really enjoyed the food and the view, and plan on going when we take our daughter in the fall. Neither of us are big on bread pudding, but the bread pudding a la mode (more specifically, the caramel sauce and bananas) was probably the best dessert we had on the whole trip.

I went for breakfast about a year and a half ago. I thought the character interaction was great, especially if you are a fan of Lilo & Stitch. However, the entire experience overall left something to be desired. As Pete has echoed in past shows, I felt like I was rushed through the meal. The food was pretty good, and it is "all you care to eat" but I felt that we were rushed in, rushed to finish eating, and then ushered out, so that they could turn the tables quickly and get the next guests in. I understand that they need to turn the tables from a business standpoint, but you should be able to relax and enjoy your meal for the crazy prices that you are paying for a pretty standard breakfast.
