Ohana for 1

This is something that I've noticed that is kind of ticking me off. Every time I try for an Ohana reservation, dinner or breakfast, if I put in my party size, which is 1, I typically travel by myself and own Poly DVC, Ohana will not show anything available. If I change it to party of 2, suddenly there are times available. I've tested this many times over several months to see if this is really the case. Why will Ohana not accept parties of 1? It seems I can't eat at the premier restaurant at my DVC resort without lying about the party size and then showing up by myself.

Maybe there's someone who works there or is a dining expert here on the boards who can explain why they do that. From my experience other Disney restaurants seem to accept parties of one- there's even a CRT available for 1 on the dates I'm looking at.

I have had the exact same experience looking for 3. I could find 2 or 4 easily, but it would tell me 3 was not available. I ended up booking everything for 4. I have read on various parts of this forum that the reservation system doesn't play nicely with odd-numbered guest counts, and it sounds like whether you are booking for one or a higher odd number, it is going to do something strange.

I've had the same experience with Ohana & just had to book my ADR for 2. I've also had somewhat similar issues with other in demand ADRs like BOG dinner (if I had even found an ADR for 1, it would have been past 7:30pm) so I have to make it for 2.

Another surprising restaurant that has this same issue is Trails End at Fort Wilderness. You can't make a reservation for 1 there either. I just make a reservation for 2 and don't worry about it. As a matter of fact I have reservations at both Trails End and 'Ohana for the fall, both for a party of 2, even though I will be dining solo. Oh well.

Thank you- well I guess if others make it for 2 and show up solo that's what I will do too. Just so odd that some restaurants do that and others don't.
