Ohana Dinner - Start Seating Before 5pm Opening?

Anyone ever been seated before the restaurant opens at 5pm?

Last year, we showed up on time for a 5pm ADR and it seemed like many people were already checked in and seated. If that happens, I'd love to arrive earlier than the 5:05pm ADR we have for our upcoming trip so we can be done by 6, then watch the tiki torch ceremony and head right to MK by 7 for MVMCP.

We just got back from the Polynesian and I would recommend you getting there before 5pm. The lines are HUGE! If you get there around 4:45pm, I bet they'd check you in and get you seated before the masses arrive. We had dinner at Kona one night and breakfast one morning and both times, the line to check in at 'Ohana stretched back past Kona to the Kona Coffee bar.

So get there early and I think you'll be fine!

It's also possible that they extended the dining hours. When I was booking ADRs for a trip last fall we were offered a time that was earlier than the listed opening for a restaurant. Turned out they were going to open half an hour earlier because of free dining.

Also, it is recommended that you arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled time at any restaurant so 4:45 - 4:50 for a 5:05 ADR would be fine.

I also have an Ohana dinner ADR at 5 before we are going to MVMCP and I was hoping to get in right at 5 and be finished by 6 so we could get to MK by 7! I will definitely be arriving at 4:45 to check in, thanks!

We have an ADR in December for 4:55pm, so they do sometimes open before 5pm. The line always seems to be long to check in at 'Ohana, so we always try to get there a bit early.
