Can anyone tell me about the O'Hana Character Breakfast? I have not seen too much information about it and was interested in people's opinion regarding the character's interaction and food value. Thanks for your input!

FABULOUS!!! Food is great, regular stuff...all you can eat! The characters are so plentiful...Mickey, Minnie, Chip n Dale, Goofy. Pictures are in good lighting and the kids get to play the same "sweep the coconut" and hulahoop games! OHANA means Family! Then get on the monorail and off to the MK!

Although I thought the food was "just good" and character visits and service were on the slow side, my kids loved this breakfast most of all. They got to parade around the restaurant in a line with other kids and characters to the tune of "I Just Can't Wait To Be King." Our server was VERY slow on the morning we went, we had to wait over 25 minutes to be seated and Mickey didn't even get to our table, even though we were there for well over an hour. The food was good and plentiful and the characters who did make it to our table had great interaction.

For a listing of the menu, click here. The menu doesn't show it, but we also got small Mickey head waffles.

We will be returning to this breakfast on our trip in June.

Oh, and they also take a family picture before breakfast that you have the opportunity to buy during your meal.

DH and I did the 'Ohana Character Breakfast, just the two of us. We loved it. We did it in December 2004. Our server was very attentive, and we got to see the characters several times. I'd recommend it.

Food was served family style and we got: scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, mickey waffles, potatoes, and fruit...and maybe something else. We had Mickey, Goofy, Chip, and Dale as the characters. Goofy was walking around with his pants unbuttoned, I fgured he was full from breakfast. So when I mentioned it to him, he really embarrassed and "excused" himself. :rotfl:

Dale is such a FLIRT!!!! :rotfl: And it doesn't matter where I see him, he's always a flirt. I love it! :rotfl2:

The kids had a parade to the tune of "Hawaiian Rollercoaster Ride." Which begs the question AGAIN....why are Lilo and Stich absent from the character meal? I know, it's been brought up...come on Disney, Lilo and Stitch soooo belong there!

The food was fine, characters were all decked out in their Hawaiian attire. The parading around the restaurant was GREAT - the kids just loved it! Goofy led the line and as usual, he was *goofy*!!!

Cameo, if you're getting near the end of your meal and you realize a character or 2 hasn't made it to your table, quietly ask your server or one of the managers - they're really good about getting the character(s) to you. We've had to do this several times over the years and always got service with a smile :teeth: BTW, what part of ND do you live in? Our middle child was born in Fargo (20 years ago!!!).

we don't even have little kids.... DH likes the FOOD and I love all the picture ops. it is a must do every visit.

RachelTori -

Thanks for the tip about the characters. We probably would have been more concerned and asked for a visit from Mickey, but this was one of our last days at WDW and the kids were just ready to get to the parks and didn't really care. They saw Chip and Dale and Goofy and they were fine with that. Plus, while we were waiting for our seats, Stitch made an unexpected visit to the bar/lounge area and my kids got their picture with him. That was the highlight of the morning. I agree with the other poster who said Lilo and Stitch should definitely be at this breakfast!!

OT - We live in Mandan, right across the river from Bismarck. Not too many DISers up here in North Dakota, although I occassionally see postings from a "fargoman." We usually make one or two trips to Fargo a year so our DS5 can go to Chuck E Cheese. Ugh!!

This was the only character breakfast we hadn't done, so we finally did in December 2004.

We all enjoyed it! It was nice to have the food served to us rather than a buffet, the kids had plenty of time with the characters, the food was tasty and plentiful.

I would recommend it, especially if your kids are younger and have trouble with a buffet (like the one at Chef Mickey's).

I wasn't crazy about it. DD4 and I went in August. Since it's family style, the food selection is limited. I prefer the variety I can get at a buffet. The character interaction was adequate, but nothing special. The characters each came around once and didn't spend much time at each table. I won't be going back for breakfast, though I love dinner there.
