Ohana character breakfast--How long?

I have read in several reports and reviews about how long this breakfast takes -- well character breakfasts in general-- that they can take as long as 1 1/2-2 hours. The reason why I ask about this one I know (or have read) that when you first get there you have to stand in one line to get a picture which can take a while. Then you stand in check in line and may have to wait 20 minutes or so before you are seated. What has been your experience with this breakfast? Did you like it? If I have a 8:20 adr, should I get there earlier because of the picture line? What time would you get there if you had this adr and how long do you think I should plan to be there? Surely I would be done by 9:30ish--right? Thanks

Went two weeks ago. We were seated within about 15 minutes of our ADR time even though it seemed longer because we made sure to arrive early. We skipped the photograph as I wasn't going to buy it.

The area they sat us in was empty and it seemed like the plan was to feed everyone at the same time, so we waited quite a while for our food to arrive since we were seated early. Service was average, drinks refills came slowly.

Characters were very slow to arrive. We were almost done eating. We finally left without seeing Pluto because we had been been there so long and he was not even close to us.

If you went by total ADR time and when Pluto might have arrived, yes probably close to 1.5 hours.

Thanks for your quick response. Well I will probably plan on getting there around 8 and try to check in. If by 9:30 we are done eating and maybe there is one character or so that we haven't seen, I think I will go ahead and leave too... This will be our last character breakfast of the trip and would have already been to chef mickeys and crystal palace... Just trying to plan the rest of that day and sometimes these character meals can be so unpredictable (or longer).

Our meal took over an hour, although we could've been done sooner if we didn't opt to wait for Stitch to rotate back to us (he missed when they broke for the parade). There really wasn't a line for the photo when we were there -- just one family ahead of us. They sent us over as soon as we checked in so I guess that helps stagger it.

This is the one breakfast that seems to seat the whole section at a time - so there is always a lobby full of people - you check in and get your reminder buzzer thingy - when it goes off you are taken to the section - and notice the empty tables, then like a PP said, they wait till everyone is pretty well seated and start bringing out the food -

but I find it to be the best character interaction time and time again! Stitch and Pluto get up to mischief and just have fun - its contagious!

I think because of the way they divide the restaurants - the characters come around in your section only - whereas in the 1900 Park Fare those characters are all over - back and forth etc...

I lost my train of thought - had to run to check on dinner!! It may seem to take longer, so we plan on it on a day when we are leaving- have done the parks, and are in relax mode...

if you are in a hurry the CRT Breakfast is the way to go - they really rush you thru!

I have been there twice both I think for one of the earliest breakfast times so we could go to the parks afterward. I don't remember it taking very long, maybe 45 minutes to an hour max. I think as long as you are early for your reservation and get seated on time, it shouldn't be too time consuming of a meal. Also we checked in first and then got a picture taken, but I'm sure you can skip it if you are not planning on paying for the picture anyway. Also I love the juice that they have and fresh fruit.

While the topic is on the O'Hana breakfast does anyone know when they stop serving breakfast. I just booked a reservation for 11:10am and when I looked up the menu on allears.net it said breakfast 7:30am-11am. Then it said dinner was from 5pm-10pm. So I would think they would still be serving breakfast at 11:10am, but I thought I would ask here to see what people think.

11:10 is a great time for Ohanas. We recently went during the same time. We were one of the last seated. Got our juice and starters right away. The rest of the restraunt started clearing out since this is the last seating. We got our food quickly and the characters came quickly, we saw them all within just a few minutes, then we had time to eat. And then the character came back around 3 more times! By the time we left there were only 2 other families in there so we had the characters all to ourselves. Stitch climbed up on the counter and then licked everyone in the restraunt, Mickey sneaked up behind my daughter and startled her and teased here. Lilo kept giving everyone hugs. We were so glad we picked the later time!

I will say I wasn't overly impressed with the food, the breads/waffles were great but the bacon and sausage are horrible, I dont know what kind disney uses but its awful. The potatoes were good and the eggs were ok. But the juice is AMAZING and I dont like any juice but that stuff was great!

We were there Thurs. and it was our longest meal all week. We were there for at least 1 hr. & 45 min. We waited a while past our ADR time to get seated. Service was quick and we ate a lot. The problem was the characters getting to everyone. We waited for Stich for almost an hour!!! People kept getting up from their tables to cut into pictures. I was getting so mad...like I wasn't waiting too?? If Stitch wasn't my boys favorite character I wouldn't have waited.
Hopefully you won't have a long of a breakfast!:)

We've done 'Ohana for breakfast twice. Both were early (one at 7:30, and the other at 8:30) on Sunday morning. We arrived about 10 minutes early, which helped. We skipped the picture since we knew in advance we weren't going to get it (we already purchased the CM picture).

Overall, from the time we got to Poly to the time we left was about 1 1/2 hours both times. Actually time seating was about 1 1/4 hours. Just so you know, our food was brought was quickly. We are also very fast eaters. We don't inhale the food, but we just don't eat that much.

The last time we were there in mid-August, the person in charge of the characters did a great job in getting the characters around the room. He made sure they didn't miss any tables, but also kept them moving.

While seated, there was one "break" for a character parade around the dining room. Our kids joined in, and really enjoyed it.

I really love 'Ohana for breakfast. We close our trip with breakfast there, and then onto MK for a final few hours. I completely recommend it since the kids love it, and the food is real good. Try the pineapple bread and special juice.
