I have been trying for months the get an ADR for an early Ohana breakfast for Sept 22nd or 23rd.
What do you think my chances are of getting seated if we show up right when they open? We're staying at POP so I don't want to get to Poly and have no shot.

You never know...but I don't think your chance is very good. I would not get my family up, out of bed, & over there if there was a good chance of getting turned away. My kids would be so disappointed. It would be different if you were staying there because then it wouldn't be out of your way.

I wish you luck with whatever you decide!!

funny i just posted a simlar question. we are staying at the 17 to the 27th of sept and can not get a adr for breakfast or dinnier! I was wondering the same thing:confused3

We got a walk up easily in February this year, around 9am. But of course that's a completely different time of year and a completely different time of day. I have to say though that when we asked the CM at the podium he didn't even raise an eyebrow, he didn't act as if it was a silly thing to ask.

Anything can happen, so there is a chance. But it is slim to none, IMO
If there was a table available you would be able to book it.
No way, I would make that trip hoping for a no show

Id attempt it if it's your MK day, EMH at MK would be your best option. This way if you can't get into OHana you have Kona or CC, and can still be at MK relatively early. Good luck!

I would only try it if I was willing to eat at Kona instead, if it turns out they are full and/or the wait is significant.

Thanks everyone! I don't think I'm going to try it. I've got great ressies for other days, it just seemed to be a place my DD loved best but I didn't relize until after the 180 mark hit and I was out of luck.

For any newbies reading this, I was able to score a ressie at 'Ohana's for breakfast one week away from our vacation. Keep trying!!!:thumbsup2

But NOT as a walkup.
I agree, Keep trying on line. If a table becomes available, you will be able to book it.

Both times we have done breakfast at Ohana at 7:30, which I think is the first seating. The restaurant was practically empty. Once was in July, the other during Spring Break with a crowd level of 10. You never know...another idea is to call from your hotel the night before. We have done this and scored breakfast ADRs for the next day.

We had luck one year getting an ADR for 'Ohana breakfast when we checked into our WDW resort. I had been trying for 6 weeks before we arrived to get an ADR for 'Ohana. When we checked into the Poly, I mentioned it to Guest Services - they actually were able to give us 2 choices for available ADR times.

Folks on this board are sometimes a little drastic. This past trip I had a reservation for 7 people that turned into a party of 14. I was unable to change the ADR before the trip to accommodate the extra guests. I asked about my chances of adding the extra people at the podium on this board, and the overwhelming response was "no way! find someplace else! never going to happen!"

It stressed me out, and I thought for sure my chances were nil. When we got there it was no problem whatsoever. We didn't even have an extra wait. While I was there, my friend who was staying there asked for a breakfast ADR. They told him to show up just as they opened, and they would have no problem.

My friend is NOT an early riser, and he did NOT get there just as they opened, but they still sat his family of 4 without a problem.

I would not approach this as a 100% guarantee, but I would say that if you get there, and ask nicely, and are patient, you have a decent to very good shot of having breakfast. Remember, this is Disney. They want your money!

We just had a 7:30 ADR for Ohana last Wednesday the 7th and the place was half empty and by the time we left the place was emptying out. I guess depends on the day and crowd levels at that time.

We were at WDW during the same time as the OP's. We actually called from our resort room on 9/26 and scored a 7:30 am ressie for the following day at Ohana for breakfast. So it always helps to keep trying up until the last minute. If you are able to, then try a walk up. You just never know! :wizard:

Last year we booked a trip for Christmas about 3 weeks before......and there were NO ressies available.....the week before we left, they started popping up left and right. We ended up with Chef Mickey, Tusker House,O'hana, crystal palace.....all with more than one time option . We are headed back this year....just booked, and last Thursday there was a ressie available for my party of 6 for Cinderella dinner on 12/23. I passed because of my kids first choices, but someone scooped it right up. Yesterday there was a 7am chef mickey available for Christmas morning!! Believe me, ressies will become available....I give you a 99% chance of having breakfast at ohana...hopefully at your preferred time however, that is where we have to become flexible and grateful for what we get!!! Good luck....sending good vibes your way!.:goodvibes

And also the staffing level. Even though it was half full they still could have turned people away.

Some one once posted that restaurants don't staff according to reservations, but the other way around.
