Ohana breakfast w/o ADR?

We're planning to have a late breakfast at Ohana on our "rest day", but I don't want to commit us to a time to be there with an ADR so we can sleep in and take our time. How possible will it be to get in in mid-August without an ADR and without a huge wait?

In mid August, as it stands now from just checking the Disney reservations site and having previous experience in mid-August, I would say just book a later time. Its more relaxing to have a time where you know your party will be accepted and seated than to constantly wonder whether you can and will be able to get a table there.

I would book one for a time that would work for you and then if you find last minute that something else would be better, check the app. Last year I booked Chef Mickey's for our down day at 10:30 thinking we would want to sleep in and lounge a while that morning. We were up early anyway, so I went online and found a 9:00 and changed it to that. People cancel last minute, so morning of ADR's are easier to find than further out ones.

Not possible. At 'Ohana they don't even let walkups wait for a table, it's reservations only.

Someone is sure to come reply that one time they did snag a table as a walk up, which I'm sure has happened once in a blue moon, but don't be counting on it.

Agree completely about all this.

'Ohana is nearly impossible* to do as a walk-up, no matter what time.

*It's gotten to where you almost need to put an asterisk on every post with a disclaimer about exceptions because inevitably, there will be that ONE exception that will come along and post that THEY were able to do it, thereby creating an unrealistic expectation for others...and they're oblivious to the fact that they simply got incredibly lucky.

Ohana breakfast is a character meal, and all character meals are difficult to walk up to. You could always take your chances and if it doesn't work out, try Kona as a walk-up. As a last resort, Capt. Cooks at Poly would be serving breakfast. You'd just have to be ok with potentially not getting into Ohana and the commute time to Poly for something that's not a sure thing.

I made an ADR for later than I'm sure we'll be. Worst case scenario we're up earlier than I imagine and the kids have a snack to tide them over until we go to breakfast! Thanks all!

You can probably also get away with showing up a half hour early or so without being utterly ridiculous.
