Hi All - I have heard from many people (including my TA) that 'Ohana is a must eat restaurant....

My Question: Breakfast or Dinner?

Thanks

We've never been for breakfast but dinner is our fave. This year we are doing dinner there our first night AND our last night. We love watching the fireworks from the restaurant.

We have only had dinner here and it was really nice, the food and experience was wonderful. I have read quite a few good reviews about the breakfast here too and it is definitely a meal we want to try out.

Ohana breakfast is a must do for us. I can't compare it to dinner because we have never done that. The food isn't spectacular but its just a fun experience, plus we love the characters there.

We did dinner, since my kids aren't big breakfast eaters. I thought it was ok, dh loved it. The kids tried different things until settling into their chicken nuggets. :P

It's not a "must do" IMHO. It was our second most expensive meal (just under Chef Mickey), and I didn't think it was worth it. There's a lot of other places I'd rather eat.

The breakfast might be completely different though.

I think the determining factor might be what experience you are looking for. Ohana's breakfast is a character meal...we are doing it this year for the first time because my daughter is a huge Lilo and Stitch fan. Ohana's dinner has a show with dancers I believe...not that it is for grown ups but if you have small children they might enjoy the breakfast more...while tweens/teens/adults might prefer the dinner. Those are my first thoughts on it anyway! ;)

I personally didn't think the food at Disney was anything to write home about. It was kind of yick...lol* But our focus was mainly getting as many character experiences for the kids as possible. :) Hope that helps!

Edited to add: in my humble opinion...the only 'must do' for us was the dinner at the castle...because...it's the castle! ;)

Thanks - I have a dinner booked as we have definitely done enough character meals this trip - CRT, TH, CM, and CP - but I wonder if I should just skip 'Ohana - esp. if it is that expensive -

We ALWAYS do a breakfast meal there. The food is very good and a great way to start a day. The characters are Lilo and Stitch and DD's new favorite is Stitch. It is an expensive meal either way. We have never been for dinner.

We will be doing the breakfast there when we go. I honestly done know which is better as I have never been, but I love Stitch so I am excited either way!

The dinner at Ohana's is amazing! I have no idea what some of these posters are talking about. My daughter and niece are both picky eaters and they loved it. I should also mention the first time they ate there they were 5 and 2. They will be 7 and 4 and already have it on our list of places to eat on our next trip in June. princess:

If you are a meat lover, Ohana dinner is the way to go.

Served family/rodizio style with lo mien noodles, broccoli, salad, potstickers and sticky wings...

This doesn't work for all kids but works for us as my DD4 could make a meal out of lo mien noodles and broccoli on its own.

The bread pudding for dessert is my all time favorite thing eaten, ever. The 27th can't come fast enough!!!!!! :yay:

We've never had the breakfast, but, it is our traditional first night dinner, we absolutely love it. It's the first ADR we make of the trip, and so far, we've been lucky enough to get them all for our first night.

We really love going down to the beach after and watching the Wishes fireworks too!

YOU WILL LOVE THE BREAKFAST! I AM ALSO A HUGE LILO AND STITCH FAN AND HAD A BLAST;)

FOOD WAS PRETTY GOOD TOO! WE WANT TO TRY THE DINNER BUT I HEARD THE SHOW FOR DINNER IS NOT THAT EXCITING AND A BIT HOOKIE BUT THE FOOD IS GOOD SO ITS YOUR CHOICE:goodvibes

I might just cancel it - it doesn't seem to be as MUST DO as my TA said it was and we are really stretching things with OOP expenses at this point...would be one less thing to worry about - -
