I realize I am running a little late but we keep changing our minds. I can't get a PS for O'hana on Sat 5/19. Either 5:30 or 8:40 one is too early, one too late. We are a party of 4, should we just show up. THey can't be that booked can they. We wanted to eat here before Enight at MK.
Thanks
Mary

Well, you could just show up, but you might want to have a back up plan. We stayed at the Poly last fall and did 'Ohana first night. I made PS six weeks out and got one of the last available. It was mobbed every night we were at the Poly.

Yes, they can. Ohana is a very popular restaurant. By just showing up, you might get seated, but be prepared for a LONG wait. People with PS's (myself included) have had to wait 20 - 30 minutes!!!! So, you're wait would be MUCH longer without a PS.

I would keep calling and trying to get PS's that work. And/or have a backup plan.

Eating at 5:30 might not be too horrible, when the option might be there getting at 7 and having to wait for an hour to be seated, if it's even possible.

Last summer, I called from the AKL the day of, and got a decent time for dinner there before our eride night. I think we did eat a bit early, but it was nice to take our time there, be able to relax after dinner by just walking around the MK doing smaller stuff and looking in shops, and then being ready for the big rides. :)

Good luck.

Marymouse, I hope that's a typo in your message. May 19 is a Monday, not a Saturday. Have you been asking for May 17 or May 19?

Denise

I just called for PS at Ohana for Sat 5/10 any available time and the agents first reaction was that it would be sold out. She checked and did get a 8:10 ressie for us and commented that I was very lucky and there must have just been a cancellation. I thought it might be due to Mothers Day weekend, but maybe they really are that busy on Saturdays.

Good luck!

Cathy

I made a PS months ago and just switched it to a different day this afternoon without a problem at all. We had it for a Wednesday and switched it to a Friday at 6:30pm. We're a party of 6 so I was shocked that we were able to do it.

I'd keep calling - you never know when someone will call and cancel their PS thus opening one up for you.

It's a yummy restaurant!

:)

I just called today to make PS for 5/11 (Sunday) - mothers day:) I thought there would be no chance of us getting in, or at least not at a decent time, but luckily I got a ressie for 6:20! I was shocked that they still had availability at such late notice and it being a holiday and all  I hope we don't have to wait an hour once we get there, or DH will be upset:mad: They took my credit card number and said I would be charged $10.00 if we did not show. I asked why and they said because it was a holiday and that is their policy for PS for holidays:confused: If you booked for 5/17 Sat. it could be that Saturdays are busier due to the fireworks at MK and people wanting to view them from the restaurant?

I was lucky, I just booked Ohanas the Thursday or was it Friday, I got 6-6 for 6pm. that was all they had and it works for me. Ohanas here I come. :Pinkbounc :bounce: :bounce:

Marymouse, We have a PS at 7pm on the 19th (a Monday). Maybe we'll see you there!! Wear your lime green ribbon!! :D

I just called to make a PS at Ohana's for June 30. I wanted 6 p.m. but had to settle for 6:20...that was ok, but they must be busy and people must be making a lot of ressies ahead of time.

We will be celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary...never eaten there..HOPE I made a good choice....lol...I also told them it was for a 25th anniversary...do they do anything special if its your anniversary or birthday?

I would not just show up unless you had a backup plan. Yes it can be booked up already. Its a fun place. I was there last night and it seemed full.

From our experience Saturday nights are ALWAYS busy at this place no matter if it's peak season, off peak, etc.

There are a lot of groups that have dinner parties, etc for various occasions (weddings, anniversaries, family reunions...), thus the weekend night is VERY popular.

I would try to call as much as possible before your trip to try and get a time or just take the early or late time. If you decide to wing it just be prepared to eat somewhere else if you have to. Kona is pretty good, but it's not O'Hanas. GOOD LUCK!

I would just try your luck and show up. If they can't accommodate you then you can always go somewhere else.
