Hi all! We finally secured an Ohana rezzie (but for the grace of God!), in my party I will have two three year olds. I know that the price for kids shows $29.00 but for 3 year olds that may eat one pot sticker and a piece of chicken? Is there anything that a guy can do to either lessen the price or not have to pay for them what so ever? Mind you, I'm not miserly, it just seems to be quite a price for this size of kid. Maybe I'm wrong. Thanks.

I feel your pain. We would love to eat there, but have two tweens who would eat about 1 ounce of meat each—not enough to pay $59 for their meals. Maybe someday.

Yeah... if they are 3 then you are paying. I know, we took my son when he was 3 and he has high functioning autism with sensory issues and he hardly ate a thing and we still had to pay the full amount. But you know what? He LOVED it! They do that coconut race thing and he thought it was a blast, even when he was a tiny little dude. So accept that you will be paying for the experience. They did bring (and still bring) my son rice cripsy treats instead of the bread pudding for dessert and he loved that, so I just think of it as the most expensive rice crispy treat ever ;)

Been there, done that, doing it again this summer with a 4 year old. The price is the price - genuinely no sense in bothering asking about it. We all know it upfront and choose to go anyway.

If you ask, they'll give you some more kid friendly choices - mac and cheese, hotdog/fries, chicken nuggets/fries... not sure it makes the price sting less but at least they're eating more than a few bites.

They will bring out mac and cheese, hot dogs, French fries, and chicken nuggets (I think this is one of the kids options).

IMHO, if you don't think it's worth the cost, I would consider cancelling. We have eaten at 'Ohana many times over the past 12 years and the last time we went, it was awful. Maybe consider a different restaurant that offers an "experience" without the AYCTE cost like Whispering Canyon? They have AYCTE skillets there plus an a la carte menu so you can control your costs more there than you can at 'Ohana.

You are paying for the character experience as well as the food. You could go to a restaurant without characters like Kona Cafe and only pay for what you order for them. Any character meals will have a fixed price.

If you are staying at the Poly, you can order this meal via room service. Or you can order small servings from the bar. Yes you miss out on the full experience, but saves so much!

There aren’t characters at dinner.

Yeah there's really no way to have cast members monitoring how much your kids eat to determine whether or not they should be charged. Once they're 3 they're being charged the child's price no matter what.

Ask for kiddie food. When my son was 2.5 we brought him and they gave him. Nuggets and fries free!!! But we're going again in may for his 4th bday.. and they will give kiddo food. Nuggets, mac and cheese, a drink, and dessert.. he got a rice kripsie treat. We tipped the waiter extra for hooking us up. Figure a kids meal with drink and dessert is about $15 at a TS. That plus the ambiance makes it worth the money!!

It's not very good. With our without kids I wouldn't pay what they are asking. I can't figure out how/why so many people like that place.
