Hi,

Was wondering if you good folks could help me out. I really want to dine at O'hana but I have a dilemna. Traveling with me will be my elderly Mom who does not eat spicey foods. I showed her what was offered and she was not too enthused about it. Now I know the obvious thing to do would be to eat elsewhere but I was wondering if they would accommodate us if we requested (in advance) alternate foods. I called disney dining and I was told that they would make every effort to do so but I did not really get a conclusive answer.

Has anyone had a similiar situation and how was it handled? What was offered as an alternative?

My Mom's  comfort and enjoyment of our dinner is most important to me so I may very well end up making alternative plans. Got my finger crossed though :goodvibes.

Thanks for any help.

I don't remember anything but the shrimp being spicy :confused3

There is bread, salad, noodles, veggies, and dessert

Also, I remember that they offered to bring my son kids menu stuff-so they could probably bring her some chicken nuggets or something.

None of the food was spicy when we ate there. It is seasoned but not spicy.

They brought my daughter a cheeseburger because she doesnt eat turkey or chicken or shrimp or steak!

Thank you for your responses! I should have mentioned that I have eaten there and I agree with you both but she doesn't do "spiced" either. She lives on a very bland diet. I should just leave her home <joking>. :rotfl:

This is exactly what I am interested in hearing about. I wonder if they have anything oven baked or broiled such as chicken or beef. Wishful thinking on my part but I really would like to make this work for everyone.

I have a call in to the manager. Will post when I receive a response.

Thanks.

For people with allergies they normally make plain grilled chicken and white rice so I know they have those items on hand. I think they also have plain steamed veggies and the salad is a totally normal salad so really she should be fine. At any WDW owned restaurant they have plain items they can simply grill or sauces can be left off. Many people don't want seasonings, sodium, allergies, etc so they are prepared.
