Ohana and pn allergy

hi all!
I've seen it discussed that many with pn allergies avoid Ohana because of the sauce and the children roaming free in the restaurant. My almost 2 year old DS is egg, milk and pn allergic.
We are driving to disney and staying DVC, so I will be bringing all his food and preparing all his meals in room and bringing them with us. We are used to wiping down restaurant tables and highchairs and I will be using disposable placemats for him. All that being said, should we avoid Ohana? He wont be eating the food and his allergist says he has to ingest the pn to have a reaction. I'm not one to take risks, and would appreciate honest opinions, thank you!

Our family went to Disney last November and included an 18 month old with soy, dairy, egg and peanut allergies. We were so impressed with how Disney handles food allergies. You've nothing to worry about. We were on the dining plan and although she was too young to need her own plan she was allowed to eat from her parents plates. At every buffet the chef came out and told us exactly what she could and couldn't have and then went and prepared her a dish that she could eat and it was prepared to avoid cross contamination in the kitchen. We didn't have to take food and prepare for her ourselves. And yes, we ate at Ohana's where as with other restaurants, the chef came to the table and explained what she could have and/or went and prepared her something just for her. The only request we made there was that they not bring the peanut sauce to our table. It was amazing how great this was handled and we had no worries at all. Good luck and have a great time!

just remember that they can not heat any food that your bring for your child, short of a cup of hot water. that is true all over WDW

If he's not contact reactive and you personally wipe down surfaces that he may potentially put his mouth on then I don't see any reason to skip 'Ohana. Not only that, I don't see a reason to bring his food either. The chefs will prepare food for him in an area of the kitchen that never has any of those particular allergens. If he doesn't like the type of food at 'Ohana the chef can even get him something like the allergy chicken tenders which are DELICIOUS.

As for the parade and coconut races, if he is really good about not putting things or hands in his mouth and you wash his hands immediately after then he should even be safe with all of that, again, if he's not contact sensitive.

My niece is 15 now and my sister is a DVC member. My nieces 1st trip was at a year old. She is allergic to soy, dairy, nuts, egg, and shellfish. She goes into Anaphelapic shock. (my spelling is awful please forgive) They carry an epi pen EVERYWHERE. My mother, my brother and I all keep one at our homes. They love Disney. There favorite for her is Wilderness Lodge with Old Key West a close second as the restraunts at both have been wonderful. The worst is AKL. As in most restraunts in disney they will ask if there are any dietary needs or alergies however the eateries there use a lot of nuts in their cooking, especially peanuts.
They also avoid seafood places. If she can smell it cooking it is in the air and she will start swelling up. We all know to get her out of there pdq. If you let them know what allergies he has though at most sit down the chef will come out and discuss with you what he can and cannot eat and either make him something special or make suggestion about what foods will be safe for him.
