We have Ohana reservations in Sept at 7:30pm. Is it safe to assume we will be done in time to head down the Poly Beach area to see Wishes which is at 9pm? I am thinking that this might be tight time squeeze. We will also have 2 kids who eat slowly. Thanks!

You might make it, but it'll probably be tight. Ohana often runs late, so it's possible you may not be seated exactly at your reservation time.

On the other hand, you may get lucky by having the ressie run late and watch it through the the big picture windows.

'Ohana has a tendency to run behind so not sure you would be able to make it outside to watch the fireworks but you might be able to catch them inside while eating - they dim the lights and pipe in the music.

We were there in June and had an 8:15 reservation - apparently they were really behind that night since we didn't get sat down until after 9:15 and didn't get our salad until about 15-20 mins later. Manager came to our table to apologize and also gave us a credit for the long wait - she had a whole list of tables she had to visit that night.

Also, beaches are now closed 1 hour before sunset so you will not be able to watch from the beach but I am sure there are other places at the Poly to watch the fireworks. Personally we always just like sitting in 'Ohana when we are there during FW time.

Is that a recent change in response to the tragedy at the Grand Floridian?

Here is another thread about updates on outside activities. It looks like in the thread that they might be opening some of the beaches for an hour or so for people to watch the EWP and FW. Just wanted you to be aware that you may not be able to watch the FW from the beach. I think a lot of things are still in flux right now so hopefully you will have a better idea when you go in Sept.

If you get seated on time, which since it's Ohana I would NOT count on at all.

If they are running late, will they let you get up to move closer to the windows to watch if you're not seated near the windows?
