We just ate there last night and I was charged $30.99 for adults and $14.99 for a child???

Is this correct?

I know there are seasonal rates for some dining places, but a Friday in June is "seasonal".

I think I was overcharged?

Does anyone know?

I plan to go to concierge and ask, but thought I would get the real story here.::yes::

Holiday pricing is in effect for all of June, every day of the week, at most buffet or family style restaurants, therefore your charge was correct.

Sadly, you were charged the correct prices based on Disney's new "Seasonal" rates at some restaurants. The only thing that will change it is if the demand goes down to the point where Disney will be forced to drop the surcharge to get people to fill up the restaurants again. It's a very petty move on Disney's part, considering they aren't offering any better value for the money. Most of the restaurants are way over-priced to begin with. This is just adding insult to injury. :mad:

May 22nd through August 2nd is Disney's Summer Season. Resort prices are higher and I'm still trying to understand why people think Disney charging more for buffets during a higher season is considered "ripping off". We pay higher prices for our resorts and no one complains.

Disney World is actually behind major tourist areas in increasing prices for "holiday" times. Major cities have done this for years. Try eating over in Tampa during the Super Bowl weekend. Or in Daytona during Speed Week.

Disney just has more and longer "holiday" seasons.

Here is accurate info as to the dates of seasonal pricing as reported on the disboard's info page. As you can see, it's actually May 25 to July 5 this year.

During seasons of high demand, Disney raises the prices at most of the prix fixe restaurants.

Below are the restaurants and dates when you can expect to pay more. On average, it's $4.00 more per person ages 10 and up, $2.00 more per child ages 3 -9.

* May 25 - July 5, 2008
* November 22 - November 29, 2008
* December 16, 2008 - January 3, 2009
* April 5 - April 18, 2009
* May 24 - July 11, 2009

Restaurants:

* 1900 Park Fare
* Akershus
* Biergarten
* Boma
* Cape May Cafe
* Chef Mickey's
* Cinderella's Royal Table
* Crystal Palace
* Garden Grill
* Hollywood and Vine
* Liberty Tree Tavern (dinner)
* Ohana
* Trails End
* Tusker House

NOTE: This list is subject to change without notice and does not exclude other dining venues. There is no impact on guests using the Disney Dining Plan.

You were not overcharged. You paid a seasonal rate that applies to the fixed-price meals (buffets and all you can eat restaurants) at certain peak times of year.
