Okay, so I am closing April 9th my "feet wet" 100 point contract to OKW with a June UY. Our plan WAS to travel next Thanksgiving which would give us plenty of points!

Unfortunetly, now we are planning a trip next spring break. I will have 220 points ( 20 banked from 07). I am 3 points shy if I want to do 6 nights and 76 shy if I want to do 7. I really do not want to have to pay $700 for one night going the point rental route.

Thoughts, advice, what to do?????

Any chance you are arriving on a Saturday night? If so, why not pay cash to stay at one of the non-DVC resorts and then move to DVC? If yor plane arrives late, perhaps stay near the airport that first night and then get an early start the next day.

Are you planning to visit Sea World or Universal Studios this trip? If so, stay near there (for cash) one or two nights.

Call MS and see if you can get one or more of your weekend nights (Friday or Saturday) for cash with the 25% member discount. That will probably be less than the rack rate.

Can you party legally squeeze into a 1 bedroom (I'm assuming your stay is for a 2 bedroom) for the weekend nights?

One last option if you don't want to move (especially on your first trip home) - see if someone will transfer you the 3 points you need to do the 6th night. Take a look at the Rent/Trade Forum, read all the Sticky Threads at the top and post your request.

We are planning to do Sea World and Universal those first two days. Thinking a hotel that first night near on of those two might be my answer. We are probably doing Sun Country on either Sat or Sun. Those flights get into Orlando at noon. If we did a two day park pass for Sea World and Universal we could go straight to one of those parks from the airport, then to hotel.

Gosh this is confusing! Going to see what my travel agent can come up with for that one night.

Thanks Carol!

Ann

We have stayed at a Residence Inn near Sea World that is quite nice and convenient to both parks (assuming you have a car).

Try priceline for the hotel. We usually get a 5 star hotel for about 100 per night in big cities like New York and Chicago

We will be doing a car for the first two days. Picking up at MCO and dropping on at the WDW. I will look into the Residence Inn, can we fit all six of us?
