Welcome Back! Or are you there now? I confess to not reading any of the posts other than your updates and a couple of replies up above me. So all I know was that there was a sendoff of sorts and earlier I saw you on another thread so I am assuming you are back. I mean really, who reads other people's TR's when they are AT Disney? I know I don't. Not that there's anything wrong with that. It just seems odd you know...like those shoes with toes. It aint quite natural. But Marv welcomed you back and he is a trustworthy feller. Plus I figure if you are posting, you must have returned. If you actually left to begin with. Which you may not have. That could have been a rumor. I have begun to ramble I see. I'm even sure what I was talking about to be perfectly honest. A general lack of sleep and abundance of caffeine have left me in a state of befuddlement.

Just back from an amazing trip!!!! I will be doing some sort of report but I am heading out again for Food and Wine and need to keep moving on this one so I need to find the time.

Yup, the Florida heat is nothing to mess with. I've lived here all my life and can't take it. When I take my students out to recess, we hav to carefully watch them for heat exhaustion. Have fun on your trip!

Oh yes I spent a year living in Fl and had to watch the kiddos too

I got heat exhaution once in NY while I was coaching and ever since then I have been more prone to getting it again.
While I was coaching when I felt the "feeling" coming on gettin IN the pool always helped so this time I used the bathtub to get cool fearing the pool would actually be too warm to do any good.

Oh no, Judy started to get that heat exhaustion thing in Epcot a couple of years ago too. Not a good feeling. I hope the cold bath and nap did the trick.

Trip was great. The trick is really to recognize it early so you can cool your body down whichever way it responds best. For me I learned it was the bathtub trick.

You literally ARE leaving us with a cliff hanger since you are getting ready to leave?

I say you feel better, if it was just the heat. I hope you downed lots of fluids.

When we were there in June 2009 there were several times where I thought I was going to lose it from the heat. That sick, nauseous, dizzy feeling that comes over you. It's rough. We were blessed that we did NOT have that kind of heat this past June.

Hi Pat. I just found this report and am going back to start reading now. I've really enjoyed reading along on all your other trips and I'm sure this one will be great as well.

I love the Dory stuff. Wish they had an antenna topper. The heat is something I need to be very careful with.

I got one of these, also.
I don't mind big designs on backs, but I like pocket-sized or small designs on fronts. I also got a Fort Wilderness t-shirt. I like having some resort-specific stuff.

I like the resort specific stuff. I may have to see what comes home with me this time- since I am driving - more room...

I can't believe your trip is so close! Just one more day. I am so jealous, I want to go and see Cars Land and World of Color so bad!

I find Captain EO oddly entertaining too. I think it's because I was very young when it first came out and it's the memory of it. I have to chuckle at it though, because it was so "advanced" at the time, and now we watch it like "really?"

That feeling from the heat is the worst. It's the unfortunate side effect of going to WDW in the summer.

DL is now just a wonderful memory. Cars Land and the World of Color were amazing.

Captain EO is great in a very cheesy way. It is icinic of the 80's. Fun to laugh at and at the same time fun to see how far we have come and how "advanced" it was for the times.

Sorry for the heat. I'm glad you got out of it and cooled down. Watching the World Showcase players is the girls and I thing. DH always stays away, I think he's worried he'll get picked where as we would love it. We missed it this last trip, they weren't performing on the only day we were there. Try next time to catch it from the beginning. After all it's all just "rubbish".

A great time was had in DL.
The heat in florida is compounded by the humidity.

Maybe next week I can catch the whole players show.

Pat, I am finally caught up. I won't comment on every update like I normally would (I still have so many threads to catch up on since we were on vacation). But the updates are all great (don't you just love that new Dumbo area?).

DL was great and GCV was AMAZING.

Oh, no! Now I am worried! I hope the heat doesn't get you down and you are able to carry on with your trip without feeling cruddy!

My family generally does ok with the heat- we have had 4 trips to Florida in July and my son and I were there in June- but on our first trip, my oldest son was dehydrated and it s*cked!

The shows around the World Showcase are so entertaining, but I don't check the times either, and just feel fortunate when one is underway as I travel by.

I have that Beach Club shirt too! One of my friends from the BC/YC thread got it for me.

I have sensitive to the extreme heat since I was coaching a swim team in NY. Hopefully I can get a post tub update in - I am getting wrinkly from being in that tub.

I can't wait to hear your thoughts about DL. Since we are AP holders there, I'm kinda partial And.. you've gotten to enjoy the lovely heat wave we are having here.. UCK! This heat has been horrible, hope you could enjoy anyway. We are heading there tomorrow and I'm hoping it cools down a bit! We love the new Carsland, so I'm sure we'll be spending most of our day there.

Oh yes a heat wave just for me. It was hot but there was a great plan in place and I do have to say Carsland was amazing.

I love the t shirts at Disney. The Beach Club one is really nice.

Looks like fun times at Epcot.

DL was great-- I can only imagine the MNSSHP costumes. All I can say is that we will all be doing it together and that will be a hoot.

We can stop in Mexico for a tequilla flight before if it helps.

Things at work seem to be under control except for the "fire" in my office last Friday before I got back and the gas smell in the pool are this morning.

no cliffhanger both were minor and just something to laugh at now.

I removed my old ticker since it was blocking this one. Went to DL Sept 27-Oct 1 then my conference in Vegas Oct 1-5, home back to work this week and then off for Food and Wine Oct 13 -19.
I am getting a lot of teasing around the office for being gone but I have plenty of vacation time and need to burn some.

Lots of DISmeets planned as there are many people going to be down there.

Lots of good AP deals going on now - good discounts until Dec during non peak times ( holidays) You should try and get in on them if you have a AP.

Hopefully the only time I will active the cloaking device will be to avoid any HP trying to slow me down .

Last I left with you, I was soaking in a tub trying to ward off the nasty effects of heat exhaustion. That and a Nap.



The verdict was.........















Much to my relief I felt so much better when I woke up.




The time was 8:22pm and I was heading out to enjoy EMH at DHS.
This was my view as I walked out.

A Very crowded night at DHS. First stop was the hat to look for the 4th of July pin. I walk away with a Star Wars weekend pin which was the last one one and several DVC and VISA pins but no July 4th pin. They were sold out already.

I would need to keep searching and it was only July 2nd.

Dinner was in order so I wandered down to Fairfax Faire for some chicken. Not too bad but not great. The line for ToT was long and RnR was even longer. I decided to try an apple crisp and found that yummy but the crowds were once again huge due to F!

While eating I snapped this and thought of Rosie.

Star Tours and Muppets  not a bad plan B.

A slow wander down the streets of America and then out. F! must have just let out since the line for the boat was long so walk back it is.





A nice slow meander and back to the room. Have I mentioned how much I love my home resort??

Probably back in the room by 11 or a bit later.
