Ok ever since we got on the plane in June to come home from our WDW wedding week I have been talking about planning our next trip. :cool1:

Yes, OK, I'm obsessive, but it's not like thats a bad thing when it's WDW related, right? :confused3

So now after three months of debating resorts, package vs no package, asking questions over dinner, spouting hints and tips from the shower while my husband is trying to shave in the steamy mirror, ordering even more Disney books from Amazon.com...well, you get the picture.....finally yesterday after several calls to CRO trying to figure out if we can do a split stay on a package....I book us three nights in Sept 06 at POR and two nights at the YC. :cheer2:

So, I tell DH last night that this is what I did. :bitelip:

So now, all of the sudden he's like "Well, why aren't we staying at the YC the whole week?" "Why didn't we get the Premium Package?" "Why are we going the week after Labor Day if your worried about NOJ?"

:badpc: (OK It wasn't the computer fault but we don't have a "Whacking My Husband" smilie)

Gee, honey, thanks for all your help during my obssessive planning for the last three months.

Well, anyway, today I changed the reservations....

So we are booked for a week at the Yacht Club in Sept 06! :Pinkbounc  :cool1: :bounce: :cheer2:

And now........the very very very very long wait.....

Relax.....I don't even ask him anymore. I just do all the planning myself. You will LOVE the YC. It's my favorite resort. The location can't be beat and the CM's are so friendly.

:rotfl: :rotfl:

I too think we need one of those smilies!

I just wish my DH would let me go crazy and get the premium everything and stay at the POLY, but he insists on a value :( Not to knock the values or anything, I just dream about the POLY! :teeth:

Hope you have a great trip!!!

Well, he wasn't much help the last two times we went, but he always says I plan the BEST vacations at WDW (And this comes from a guy who has been all over the globe!)

Now is the hardest time though. Now I have to WAIT. Ugh. Do I even want to get a ticker yet? It may be too depressing....

Well, I'll just spend all day long on the DISBoards in the meantime! :cool1:

My husband does this too, but with restaurants. "Aren't we eating at Sci-Fi?" "What about the England restaurant?" He drives me crazy.

However - he's the one who always questions staying at a value or even a moderate, and we then end up at a deluxe. And THAT'S not a bad thing! LOL!

I've been planning our Dec trip without any input but I shouldn't complain because he pretty much just goes along with the plan. But, I'm telling you if there is any cimplaining I'll need one of those new smilies. :rotfl:

The other day he did make the statement that this up coming trip would not be our only one to the World. Disneyland has aways been our park of choice for a few different reasons. One because it was closer to our home state of Arizona and two I'm a big chicken when it comes to flying. :guilty: Needless to say after he made that comment I was on cloud nine trying to figure out when we would be going to WDW again. :rotfl2: :confused3 I know we haven't even gone on our first trip yet.

Whacking your husband and son - okay, just any male figure would be fine for me.

I try to talk to my family all the time before our trips. I ask them where they want to eat so I can make ADRs. Never any suggestions. Then when we get there I hear, "Why aren't we eating at..."

Even better is when we are on the airplane and one of them asks where we are staying!

They both complain endlessly about me trying to talk to them about our plans. But, when my son's HS band was going to WDW, you can bet he was the first child to ask his parents to chaperone. He insisted that he wouldn't go without us because, "I'm not standing in line all day with some parent who doesn't know what they are doing!" Males!

Oh ladies I'm so glad to know I'm not the only one going thru this! :rotfl2:

:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: My husband didn't plan any part of our upcoming trip. He just told me "whatever I wanted is fine with him". He thinks I am a disney nut now because of this. Well when we get there, in 9 days I know him and my 2 DS will have the time of their lives, and why? Because of all of the planning that I have did...

Honeibee,

I'm right there with you! I'm "surprising" my DH in a couple of weeks. He thinks we're staying at POR and he's not as excited as he would be if he knew where we're really staying. WL! It's his favorite and I'm not telling him...yet! Oh, and POR was originally his idea to "save some $$$." Then I had an AP rate at AKL but he was hesitant. Then he started complaining about POR. THat's when I switched and didn't tell him. I'm letting him think that I couldn't get anything at a deluxe. Ha ha....I cannot WAIT to see the look on his face! ;)

My DH calls me at work last week and tells me that this band Queensryche (sp) is playing at the House of Blues on the 10/14 and he would like to go. We could stay at the Grosvenor, going down Fri and coming home Sun. I said that is fine. He says to ask DD & her friend if they want to go. His friend Danny & girlfriend might also go, but not sure due to funds.

Ok. I check out the rates, not too bad and there is availability. Let him know what the rates are, but we are waiting on a refund check so he doesn't want to book yet. That's okay, no problem there.

Then nothing. :rolleyes1

This week we get to talking about it and for some reason :confused3 he thinks that because the girls can't go, DD's friend has to work and they will be doing dress fitting that weekend for friend's wedding, that I didn't want to go either.

I have no idea :confused3 how he came up with that one. I was willing to just have a weekend with just he and I. We would celebrate my B-day a couple weeks early.

Now after all that, it looks like we aren't going to go. We have planned a weekend for my b-day somewhere else.

Sometimes .... :badpc: (substitute DH for computer)

Oh that is going to be so much fun! I suprised my DH with the RPDE for a wedding gift in June. Then I suprised him with the Segway Tour of Epcot. He said those were two of the best things he's ever done in his life! He LOVED RPDE! I have a picture of him after he got out of the car and he has the HUGEST grin!

But I had just as much fun keeping the secrets from him. Isn't that great fun? I love doing stuff like that. You have to let us know how he reacts to the WL. OMG, you're going to have a blast with this! Keep us posted! :goodvibes

It is SUCH a blast planning the "reveal!" I've got it all covered. I was going to wait until we got to MCO, but I'm not sure how I'm going to get those darn DME tags past him.

I made up this "card." It is actually an accordian photo album that is made for 4x6 pictures. Instead of putting pictures in I wrote him the story of how this trip has been planned. I used Disney stickers to enhance each page and the last page says,

"Please open the gift that goes with this and see if you can guess the surprise." I'm going to wrap one of our WL refillable mugs and see if he "gets" it when he sees that.

I was thinking of doing it this Sat. because my parents will be over and maybe my dad can videotape it. It's going to be pretty cool. But I want to wait, too. Ah, decisions!

Hey. If anyone has advice on how to sneak the DME tags onto our suitcases without him seeing that they say "Wilderness Lodge" I am ALL ears! :earsboy: :earsgirl:
Thanks.

LOL...And I though I was the only one who surpsied DH with where we were staying! I think it's become part of our tradition now...he doesn't know where we will stay until we are already on the ground. We always rent a car and he drives, so eventually I have to tell him which resort signs to look for!

Weird. In our family, I am the one planning all the trips, and my wife just nods and smiles and thinks I have lost it. This upcoming Disney trip is no different. I am doing all the planning (which I enjoy) and my wife just thinks I have gone off the deep end.

I've come to the conclusion that all DISers' spouse think we have gone off the deep end. My DH doesn't understand any of the planning and doesn't understand how I can be on the DIS Boards everyday all day. :rotfl:

All I ever get when I'm obsessing about onsite or off, DVC or resort is "It's just a place to sleep; it'll be fine." I wish DH would take a more active role in this life.

Get used to it now! DH has never in 16 years (today is our Anniversary! ) planned a trip! He does say where he wants to eat to make sure we have ADRs planned. :flower:

I am only 11 days out from getting married and I am figuring this out. I wish I had know sooner....he hates to plan vacations. It drives him nutz!!!!
I have attempted to get him for that last 9 months to help plan our weddng/honeymoon. He did some research or about 2 hours. I wish I had a dollar for every hour I spent on these boards and looking up info for our wedding. We could have spent 10 nights at the GF RP Concierge!!!!! I am just going to have to plan all trips from now on. I already have obe in the works for our year anniversary. I am thinking doing a land and sea vacation.
I'll CHARGE it and then tell him next summer. There is something positive about this....I get to stay where I want and eat at the places I want to.
He doesn't get on the boards and thinks I am silly. I asked him several times if he'd rather I look at porn or something. He just gives me this look and tells me to keep planning our trip. I also point out that I could be out spending HIS money; insetad I am trying to save US money for our next trip. Manipulation can work at times :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Good luck with your trip planning!!! I had a few surprises for my FDH; tickets to MNSSHP and CRT for dinner on 9/30. He happened to be peering over my shoulder as I was posting a thread and saw it on my siggy. Now, with only 12 days left before we get there, I need to think of another surprise. I was wondering if he'd like the segway tour??
