Oh, they're saying, "from the Bob VARLEY studios"

I had always thought that they were at the Bob Marley studios and just assumed it was part of the Bob Marley restaurant at Universal Orlando.

Maybe it was the way Pete said it, because one of the new rotating hosts said it and it clicked.
It was former host Bob. I didn't pay attention to his last name, then saw the wheelchair with wings logo here.

Hope I'm not the only one, but probably am. :)

Anyone else play air drums during the podcast opening theme?
I can't help myself, it's like the solo in the Phil Collins song "In the Air Tonight"--I have to stop what I'm doing and pretend to pound the imaginary drums.........

I fast forward through the opening and closing music. I find it very jarring and unpleasant.

(I do enjoy the variety of voices of the podcasters!)

:lmao: it's gonna take me a long time to get that visual out of my head.

Back in Maine there's a funny comedian name Bob Marley.

I always felt bad that he must have always had to say "Not THAT Bob Marley". He lives in Portland, but not THAT Portland, the one in Maine, not Oregon.

:rotfl2:

That is almost as funny as thinking Walter and Teresa are married. :)

I have to admit, althought I knew it was named after Bawb, the very first time I heard it on the podcast and had to do a double take at the radio. Then I went - oh ok. Then I cried like a baby for Bob. :(

OK so I am not crazy. For a while I was thinking that I must be confusing the names. I Knew about THE Bob Marley (from Maine) we went to the same college-different years-and I also was aware of "the other" Bob Marley. But I was sure I must be missing something LOL! I really wasn't missing it after all that is a relief!

Are they brother and sister? Same last name right?

I listen frequently, but am still fuzzy on who's who in relation to who.

I wonder about their day jobs or if this is it.

They seem to be able to hop over to the parks whenever they feel like it and go to the nicest restaurants and spas and take off on 11 day cruises and buy Thomas Kincaide paintings.
(I teasingly called it the "SNOBcast" at first, but obviously enjoy the show)

It's a lifestyle I could never afford, but can live it through them I guess.

I thought they were brothers two months ago! :)

Pete and Walter are together.
John and I are together.
Teresa is married to Walter's brother
Corey and Julie are married.
Kathy is..well ..Kathy.

Bob Varley was one of the original podcast team who passed away very suddenly on April 28th, 2008. The studio is named after him. He is very much missed by many, many people.

The podcast is something we do in conjunction with our regular jobs.

All of us work for the Dis and/or Dreams Unlimited Travel. Job descriptions are much more difficult as it's a "do what needs to be done" kinda thing.

I do restaurant reviews for the Dis and the Dis Unplugged, hence the need to eat in nice restaurants. Hard to review them without actually dining there.

Going to the parks is a big part of our jobs. This allows us to tell our listeners about what is going on in the parks and around Disney. It also allows us to assist our travel clients who depend on us to be able to help them navigate the planning of a Disney vacation.

No one on the podcast owns (or even likes) Thomas Kinkade. One of our listeners asked if one of us would attend a special Thomas Kinkade event held at the Grand Floridian, as there was special merchandise available only at the event. They agreed to pay the cost of someone attending the event in order to secure the merchandise they were interested in owning. I agreed to go as their proxy and report on it for the podcast.

Hope that helps us seem less "snobby";)

Wait, I figured it out.

It is the Bob Marley studio. In true Rastafarian fashion they bass a doobie around the table before the recording starts. That is why everyone sends them so many "munchies". It all makes sense...or sensamia...now. :bride:*

*Ok, I realize that this is the princess smiley (which I think looks more like someone wearing one of those oldy-time judge wigs from the colonial era) but imagine it with black dreads instead of what the heck ever it has.

Now you've gone and put an image in my head... :lmao:

I think if you met us in person you would find all the podcasters very down to earth. I haven't taken an 11 day cruise or visited a spa. I do visit the parks quite often. That is why I moved to FL. I wanted to visit often. I love it here. No I don't have a Thomas Kincade. I prefer my own photography and I have a beautiful painting from my grandfather hanging over my mantle. :)

I'll just chime in that, having met all of them, they are definitely not snobby. They are fun people to be around. Just as you would expect from listening to the banter on the podcast. :disrocks:
