Oh, Taco Bell. Why? :(

So today, I was running some errands and had to get home quick, but was craving a quesadilla. Despite having many amazing hole-in-the-wall Mexican restaurants, I went through the Taco Bell Drive-thru. I ordered a cheese quesadilla. Great. I did it.

Then I got home, and took a bite out of the quesadilla. There was a bizarre sauce inside of it that made me gag. I then did some research and found out that the cheese quesadilla is standard this way. Why?? I've never heard of this.

I'm baffled. That's what I get for going to Taco Bell...

Not a big fan of any Taco Bell food here. I liked them, say about 30years ago but I was young and dumb then, lol!

I know exactly what you mean. I think it is disgusting too

I'm almost thinking about walking back. I can't move my car due to a bad parking situation at my apartment, but I think I might be sad enough to make the 20 minute walk...

Yes, we have to specifically ask for the quesadillas without the sauce when we order them for the kids.

I don't mind it so much, but I can see if you don't know it's there it would quite the surprise!

Ah the "chili sauce"

Unless there is something new, that is what it is and I agree it is rather disgusting! I usually don't get quesadillas but the kids will sometimes and I always order it w/o the sauce.

You're in San Diego and you went to Taco Bell?!?!??!?!:scared1:

We moved from the San Diego area (Oceanside) to Virginia about 4 years ago, and one of the things we miss the most is Mexican food from any of the the "bertos" restaurants! Those 24 hr. drive through taco places are the best, and they don't have them out here!:sad2:

The only thing I ever order at Taco Bell is the steak or chicken taquito. It is just the meat and shredded cheese rolled up in a flour tortilla, then pressed and kind of toasted. No weird sauces. Oh, I also get the nachos.

I ALWAYS order them without sauce. :thumbsup2

I do like the flavor of their cheese. So despite having two really great Mexican restaurants near me, I will drive further to Taco Bell if the feeling overcomes me.

I love the sauce on the quesadillas at TB.....that said I hardly ever eat there, so bad for you, but good to have it sometimes. lol :) Sorry you didn't like it, I love it tho! :)

everything at TB tastes the same...they just put it in a different "wrapper".

Ok...I admit it. I love Taco Bell. And I like in New Mexico. I love the spicy sauce on the quesadilla and I don't normally like spicy food.

I love Taco Bell too. I always get items from their "Drive-Thru Diet" menu when I'm there. Anyone seen the ads with Christine who lost 54lbs after she switched to the fresco stuff? I love her. I also think she looks a little like Stacey of the must dos.

That's funny because I lost a lot of weight a few years ago going to Taco Bell almost everyday and getting one chicken soft taco, chicken only. I did this almost everyday for lunch. Hummm Maybe I should try it again.

As for the sauce, I HATE IT, and my children hate it too. I always order them without the sauce, and I check them before we drive off because it never fails that they forget and out it on them anyway. I really wish you had to ask for it instead.

I know.. bizarre right? lol. But I live in Mission Valley, and there aren't any drive-thru places in my immediate area. For some reason, Taco Bell was my craving.. maybe I'm pregnant ?:lmao: But I do agree.. I'd rather have gone to one of those awesome hole in the wall places. And now I know I should've..

I love to get a Taco Bell gordita once or twice a year. I really like the things for some reason.

They put sauce on a quesadilla? That seems odd.

I actually like the sauce they put in it. Even when I was working at qdoba, I'd add in a bit of queso sauce and hot salsa to my quesadilla.

Up here in the Central Valley, there's a couple of brick and mortar mexican places, but the best places are the trucks. I found one, that only goes to the flea markets, and they have the best tacos ever, with fresh made tortillas.

Taco Bell markets itself to the young male population who need high-calorie food and prefer it to be cheap, as I understand it. The rest of us are just tertiary business.

Maybe the chili sauce is a big hit with college kids?

And donaldduck352 beat me to the article posting. Not that I've eaten anything from Taco Bell in at least 8 years, but oh my:scared1:, no chance I'll ever, ever eat there again. Of course, I'm sure Taco Bell doesn't care what people like me think. After all, it's not like I'm a valued customer in their prime demographic.
