It seems that I'm always needing help lately. I'm sorry. But does anyone know anything about fluid IN the lung? I'm having so many problems since my c-section, one is I've got gallstones and need surgery! Has anyone had this and what is it like? How long is recovery? Then there is the problem of this fluid in my lung, I'm having a really bad time trying to breathe and they finally figured out it is called "pleural effusion". (not pneumonia or athsma) I've been doing some research and they talk about putting a drain in my lung for a few days! Guys I'm really freaking out now, I've been through so much pain already, I'm now facing another sugery and this lung thing?
BTW- Samuel came home last Monday with a central line in him and a nurse came around to give antibiotics. The line came out last Thurs. and he is a "normal" boy!! He's already gone over his birthweight and keeping his momma up all night.

Oh no, Sonya! :( You are having to deal with so much. :( I don't have any advice, just {{{HUGS}}}

I'm sorry Sonya for all that you're going thru! {{{{HUGS}}} and prayers on the way.

I have no advice either, Sonya!:( Just a big ole {HUG}. I am so happy to hear that Samuel is home and is doing great!:bounce:

But, Sweetie - that's the pits that you have been so sick!:(

I'm so sorry that you're going through all this. I wish I could help. (((hugs)))

Sonya, where do I begin with my gallstone story? I was diagnosed with gallstones when I was 34 weeks with baby #1. I had her on a Thursday, went home with her on Sat., and was back in the ER on Sunday night. I was then in the hospital for 9 more days, basically having my stomach pumped of its contents in preparation for my surgery, which I had on the 8th day of my hospital stay. I went home the day after surgery, and the recovery was quick and not bad at all. I could go back to eating anything I wanted without problems. I had the laparospic (sp?) surgery, so I only had about 3 or 4 tiny incisions that left tiny scars that have faded away. I hope this helps, I don't know anything about the lungs, however. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions, and I'm glad to hear Sam is doing well and is home!!

(((HUGS))) Sonya, I'm so sorry, but I don't know anything about either of those. I hope this is all over for you soon!

So glad that Samuel is doing well...great that he's regained his birthweight!!!!

Sure wish I had some words of wisdom. All I can offer is a gentle {{{HUG}}}

So glad that Samual is home and doing well.

Hi Sonya!

I'm so glad to hear that Samuel is home and doing well! That's great news!

I'm so sorry you're not feeling well, that's not great news.

About the gall bladder surgery -- like pajamommy, I had the laproscopic surgery. I had 5 incisions - 3 consisting of one stitch, 1 consisting of 3 stitches and one that consisted of 5 stitches I just counted :teeth: ). I had the surgery Saturday, was home Sunday and could have easily gone back to work by Wednesday! The surgery was a breeze. You'll feel so much better after the surgery. You'll be sore the day of and the day after, but the pain goes away very quickly.

I'm sorry to hear about your lungs. I have asthma. I understand how wearing it is not to be able to catch your breath. :( I wish you a speedy recovery from everything, Sonya. :)

OMG, I wish I could do something to help you! The gallstones are no biggy. I wonder if they know why you have the pleural effusion though...
Hey, you need to get better girl!!!!
I'm so glad to hear that Samuel is doing so well now. Best wishes to both of you and GET BETTER!!!!:)

I'm sorry I can't help you with information...........

but wanted to send best wishes and a load of pixie dust ;) :)

I have no answers to your question, I just can't imagine how much pain you must be in right now.:( But atleast you have the joy of having little Samuel to gaze up at you adoringly while he's eating.:)

I hope you have a speedy recovery from your c-section, your gall bladder surgery and your lung problem. {{hugs}} I'll pray for you.

I haven't ever dealt with either problem Sonya so I can't pass on any insight- but I want to say how sorry I am your dealing with such difficult things and I hope your doctors can get you taken care of and back to feeling good soon. . {{{hugs}}}

And many congrats on your new baby!! :) :) I'm glad he's home and doing well!! :) :)

Great news that Samuel came home already and is doing well.

I have no answers for you regarding your health. Just want to say I hope your feeling better soon.

Many hugs for you Sonya. I'm glad that Sam is doing great. Wish you were too but you will soon.

Good luck and Get well soon .....Prayers and hugs for you.....

So sorry to hear that you are dealing with all this right now. {{hugs}} to you and I hope you are feeling better soon!

Firstly glad your little joy is home and doing nicely! Gods blessings to you both!

I have gallstones...I am having my gallbladder out this coming Friday :rolleyes:

I understand it to be 4 incisions...small...and they pull the gallbladder out through the one closest to the belly button, consequently, I am told, this one is the sorest? I will be in hospital if all goes according to plan for about 8 hours...start to finish...no overnight.It was described to me as being the 'bread and butter' surgery of surgeons these days as they do so many all the time and it's usually quite uneventful with quick recovery time!!

Good luck to you...you will get through these days and be fighting fit after all is said and done!

Thanks for your support everyone. I'm glad the gallbladder thing might not be so bad. If I can survive an emergency c-section surely this will be easier. I still appreciate your stories (good ones) about this.
However this lung thing scares me. I shouldn't have, but I looked it up on the internet and found the causes can be trauma (I think a c-section and gallbladder attack would qualify this), heart failure ( I think I would have remembered this), or lung cancer. Now this scares the hell out of me. I would think there would have been more signs if I had lung cancer, wouldn't you?
And as to get the fluid out, they have to insert a needle/catheter in me and drain it. It might take an office visit or it might take 3 days.
I DON'T WANT TO DEAL WITH THIS ANY MORE!
Sorry, pity, party of one, your table is ready.:rolleyes:
