I am bummed out!

We are having our ceremony at SBP on 3/9/07 and we planned on Dinner at 'Ohana for 18 people. The earliest we can have our ressie is 9:40 p.m. We have a 5 year old and a 9 year old as well as older people in their 80's in our guest list, so 9:40 is impossible.

So I made a ressie for Mangino's at the Shades of Green. Has anyone been there and have any comments? Thanks!

I know we were told that you had to have either an early seating or a late seating at a "public" restaurant for our rehearsal dinner, so we ate early, and then we had several day guests around us when we left.

What time is your wedding? Is an early seating too early (usually 5:00) or just not what you were hoping for?

I've never been to Mangino's.

I would keep calling Ohana's every single day if that is what you really want. Have you called the resturant directly?? Maybe speak to the manager and see what they suggest. Is there anywhere else you would be interested in eatting besides those places. I am sorry you didn't get what you want. I know that must be frustrating.

I don't really have an answer if Mangino's is good but their menu looks wonderful! It will all work out for you...

We are getting married at SBP also 10/09/06 5:30pm we are having our dinner at shulas. there are only 14 of us and we still got a private room. they are very reasonable and can accomadate just about anything.

Shulas is a great suggestion...I've been to the one in Key West and it was great!

Sorry I neglected to mention that our ceremony is at 5:00 p.m. so the early seating would not work.

Manginos is wonderful. We went there for my birthday last year. It is obviously very different than Ohana's, but you won't be disappointed. The food is great. I had the house special, which I shared with my aunt. It was huge. There was a wedding reception in the next room when we were there.

I got married at SOG, so I am kind of partial. I have to say they have treated us very well in the resteraunts and catering.

I am in the same boat. I was hoping to have an early afternoon ceremony and then do the early seating, but the ceremony is at 5pm. And I am trying to get into Ohana on 1/11/07. But I think I am forced with the late seating. Atleast the youngest person in my party is 20. But I am kinda bummed about it too.

Restaurants tend to make large groups take either the earliest seating or the latest - due to trying to seat people together - normally with an ADR you just get the next available table of your size but i guess its awkward for larger groups as they need 4 or 5 tables pushed together.

Im having my welcome dinner at Ohana's on 7th Dec, and i was told i could have a table at 5:15pm or 8:00pm!

We stayed at SOG last November. Mangino's looked great, but we didn't get to eat there because it was too late that night. Then he always laughs that he can't get me out of the parks till closing! So, we didn't get to have dinner there. Good luck!

Hey ItGirl! i was there last November as well, we didint eat there for the same reason, but I thought i could give it a try, I just wish I would have done so before my wedding night........

On the other hand, the later reservation is nice because you can see Wishes fireworks from Ohana's. They pip in the music and turn down the lights, so you are getting a free fireworks display with dinner. It is really magical! A later reservation may also be nice because it accommodates for late flights, arrivals, and gives everyone more time in the park to enjoy their day and vacation (since many may have to take vk time to attend).

I held our 'reception' thank you dinner at O'hanas last October. It was the best dinner we had during our entire week at Disney. The food was wonderful, we were congratulated by everyone and it was a fun, family friendly restaurant. It also included coconut races for the kids; we had a total of 4 kids in our group.

I think I ended up booking mines thru the normal ressie line; not the group line. We had a party of 17 attend and we covered everyone's dinner, drinks and tip. Our bill total was still under $500.00.

i have not actually contacted Disney myself for the ressie ( I have for all of our other ADR's for the disneymoon), I left making this ressie up to my WP, and she contacted me and told me that we can't have it unless it is first 20 mins or last 20 mins. of the meal period.

My question is how can all these other large groups get the times they want, if my planner can't even get the ressie? I know there are more large groups trying to dine besides mine, so why cant we get a decent ressie? I am sorry but after that long day, I don't want to wait until 9:40 p.m. to eat!

This is all the more reason to call yourself. I think the WP make special arrangements; some that we brides do not want.???

I remember the ressie line rep telling me it was probably be best to get me in as early as possible. Our wedding was at 3:00 p.m. and she booked us for 5:20 p.m. We had the long table in the center of the room, it was great!

Make your own ressie, that way you know your're getting the right information.

I actually had my rehersal dinner there, it was very very nice and quiet. There was a few problems where they lost our drink order and then messed up some meals but it was fixed. But with your big party you should have no problems we just had 9 people. Any questions let me know we were there less than a month ago
