Oh no!! Why didn't I check this before???

Make sure while you are there from Dec. 4th - Dec. 10th you visit MouseFest. A lot of Disers will be there and you can meet others who publish books and websites related to WDW.

Here is a link to the event!

Yes, they do take over the Value Resorts...but the football players have always been very courteous and well behaved in our experience.

Unfortunately we had some major issues with the cheerleaders and some of their mothers. At the time we were there our sons were ages 5 and 9. We felt extremely uncomfortable taking our boys to the pool or even to the food court because of how these girls and their mothers (who obviously were reliving their own glory days) were dressed/underdressed!

We spoke to the CMs and they completely understood...we were not the first family to have complained. We were transfered over to the Beach Club at the same rate as we were paying at ASMo (with a code). Once again Disney did the right thing to make their guests happy!! It all worked out for Disney too, we're DVC members now! We still vacation the first week in December and really don't notice PW are even around.

SO...don't be hesitant to go to Disney while the Pop Warner teams are there. You may find the groups to be wonderful (if you do have some were you are staying), and from our experience the majority were! IF not, don't be afraid to say something to one of the CMs at the front desk! You're on vacation...it's supposed to be magical, not stressful!! All the best! :yay:

We too have been there many times with different groups. Mostly the groups of kids are well behaved because before DVC we use to stay at the values during spring and there were always groups there...never a problem. However, PW groups in December are much differnt, not sure why, maybe lack of supervision. We were at the BW Dec. 2005 during PW week. At the resort was never a problem, we only encountered larger waits if you got around a crowd as most like to stay together as they seem to travel in packs. The only problem we had was at MGM eating at the 50s PT. Seems a group of 25-30 ate there too. They acted so badly and were so immatural it was embarrassing as a parent. Even my adult daughter was appauled. Some of the girls didn't like being split up and kept moving their chairs to other tables. The servers would make them move back as it was a serious issue about blocking the pathways. Then the deserts came and they started throwing cool whip and ice cream at one another. The mother's just thought it was the cutest thing, the rest of the guest dining there were not so amused. The servers were not happy either, but many would not take alot of crap from them, especially when they kept moving to different tables. Other than that it was our only encounter. I'm sure there are a few really bad apples in this bunch that gives this group a bad rep, because I believe there are some very nice kids too. BTW: the competitions seem to be at the Indi Jones stage (along with WSS), so we saw the biggest groups at MGM.

They are there to play football, they practice a lot and avoid the parks. Do not worry about them.

I don't think the problem is with the football players, its the girls' group, the cheerleaders or dance and the certain age group. Admitly, I've never seen the football players, so they must practice alot. I've also been there when there are older girls competing (maybe Feb.?) and they have never been a problem either. Seems to be the one group that folks seem to have heartburn about.

The competitions are at Wide World of Sports. They do have an after hours party for them at MGM, usually on Friday night.
