I just went onto the weather.com website and it is now calling for chance of rain next week on 3 out of the 5 days we will be there!!! This just changed from yesterday....when it rains at disney, is it usually an all day event or just a few hours...

Also what parks can you best deal with the rain?? just in case I need to change my itinerary!!

Thanks and keep your fingers crossed for me that the weather man changes his forcast....after over a year of planning, I would be really bummed if it rained the whole time!!:(

I'm gonna keep my fingers and toes crossed!!::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes::

I have never been there when it rained to whole time, but it did rain 4 out of 6 days. It can rain all day, but just have fun. It can also look terrible, rain and then the sun breaks out and it's beautiful the rest of the day.

I think Epcot is the best to tour in the rain. Not may out doors shows, and a ton of indoor stuff. Test Track won't run in the rain, but M:S does.

IMHO, MK is the hardest to tour in the rain. Many queuing areas are out doors and a lot of rides are too. We also didn't like AK in the rain, too steamy. But, if it's cool, it's not so bad. The animals on the safari are pretty active in the rain.

My advice, don't worry so much about it. You can't change the weather, you can just enjoy WDW despite it. Have a great time!!!!

We trudged off to MK a couple weeks ago - the forecast called for rain all day. It stopped at 9am. The park was empty. We walked on everything. So the rain can be a blessing.

Think of how many more times that will most likely change between now and then. I wouldn't worry about it just yet. Even then, the rain tends to lighten the crowds. So sometimes is can be a plus.

The rain tends to thin out of the crowds in the parks. Put on your rain poncho and continue on to shorter lines. Next week will be extremely busy so maybe a little rain is not a bad thing. Last March when we were there at the same time it only rained for a few hours each day. Some days it made it very steamy after it rained but we trudged on and enjoyed as many attractions as possible. I agree with the above poster Epcot is a good park to tour in the rain, but we like MGM also. Millionare, Muppets, Star Tours are inside and continue to run even in the ran along with many other rides. Just enjoy!!!:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

I wouldn't worry too much about rain yet. My friend is the local TV weather guy, and says that any forecast over 2-3 days is not very accurate. Over 5 days, mainly a guess. We are going next week also, and I'm sure we'll have some good weather. If we get a little rain, no big deal.

The best time I had at the Magic Kingdom was the day it rained all day. Disney never closes when it rains so bring a poncho and a small umbrella and have a blast. The crowds were down, there were no lines so we went on evrything several times. Your only problem, if you have a poncho & umbrella will be your feet, so make sure you bring extra footwear (tough to dry them out).

Thanks for all your input...We will have a great time no matter what happens...We are in WDW!!:earseek:

Seems the forcast has changed again and now the only day forcast for rain is Monday...so who knows...I don't really think they know until they look out the window and see it raining...lol

Hope to see some green ribbons next week!!

mayday- hope your weatherman friend is right!
weather.com is showing scattered thunderstorms for Friday the 19th! :(

Just don't go down Splash Mountain in the rain. We were riding once during MNSSHP in '02 and the rain started while we were on the log. An awful lot of Splash is outside, and the rain HURT going down the big drop! Of course now that's a treasured memory of ours.

Here is the forecast as of Wednesday from weather.com, There does not appear to be very much rain next week:

Friday: Fair. Highs in the mid 70s and lows in the low 50s.

Saturday: Mostly sunny. Highs in the upper 70s and lows in the upper 50s.

Sunday: Times of sun and clouds. Highs in the upper 70s and lows in the low 60s.

Monday: A few thunderstorms possible. Highs in the low 80s and lows in the low 60s.

Tuesday: Times of sun and clouds. Highs in the mid 70s and lows in the mid 50s.

Wednesday: Plenty of sun. Highs in the mid 70s and lows in the mid 50s.

Thursday: Plenty of sun. Highs in the upper 70s and lows in the upper 50s.

Friday: Scattered thunderstorms. Highs in the low 80s and lows in the upper 50s.

A ten day forecast is bound to change, but for the most part it appears to be cool at night but relatively dry. Relieve your stress and enjoy your vacation, mon
