Oh No! My husband is scaring me...

He's decided that he has to replace the kitchen faucet right now. I agree it needs to be replaced...it has to be at least 20 years old, it's ugly, and it leaks.

The problem...he refuses to read the directions. He is not handy AT ALL, and in his opinion, "how hard can it be?"

Yikes, it can be very hard.

At least he's trying.....my husband wouldn't DREAM of fixing anything that wasn't actually broken. If there's a crisis or an emergency, there's no one better at taking charge. But to actually change a faucet that wasn't spewing water all over? Ain't gonna happen!!

Oh no!!! Definitely find the shut off valve. Do you live in an older home? This could be a bigger project than he realizes. Good luck! Annmarie

I walked in and said, "shouldn't you have a bucket?" He said, "What for?" It does appear that the water has been shut off.

I'm not going back in there. I've read the instructions and it *shouldn't* be hard, but still...

Are the hardware stores still open? My DH is very handy but always plans on at least 3 trips for plumbing projects. Think of how proud you will be when it turns out just perfect!

LOL! The very first time DH & I tried to wallpaper, we got in a fight & I ended up WEARING a 9 ft wet pasted strip of wallpaper. Of course, we laugh about it now.

Hand him a bucket and mop and some towels. Then head to a nice hotel and check in. Tell hubby to call when everything is replaced, fixed, and cleaned up

I feel your pain; my dh is sooo unhandy--he has actually broken light fixtures when he changed the light bulb. His latest project: our pump on our jet tub isn't working. The installer had put a shelf unit to be moved when problems occur. Unfortunately the tile guy tiled it in. DH ripped the shelf unit out, along with the tiles surrounding the tub, the wall around the tub, and into the toilet area--now it not only doesn't have jets, but we can't run water in there for fear of getting the sheetrock wet. Ironically, his favorite not to miss show is "This Old House."

You have my sympathy! DH doesn't like to read directions either, I read them then tell him what to do.
Another fun home improvement event is to put in drywall, the ceiling is the most fun especially when you have 8 foot ceilings. I am so glad the dry wall is done, but today is wallpaper day! Send Pixie dust!

Unless it is setting up some kind of a home theater/stereo thing, I can't do anything around the house. OK, I just remembered I'm pretty handy with the monorail and WDW railroad set I got for Christmas. Plumbing, painting, woodwork, etc...FUHGEDDABOUTIT.

Woohoo, we had victory!

After a lot of cursing and slamming last night it was determined that he needed a different size of some pipe fastener thingy. He went to the Home Depot this morning and all is well. Of course he's very proud of himself and fishing for praise, so now I have to go and tell him what a big strong handy man he is.
