Oh, No. It's Starting Already!

Lots of people on these boards warned me that it would happen. And now it has. I just didn't think that it would happen this quickly.

I had my 2006 DVC plans all mapped out and - to the extent allowed by the booking windows - reserved. Once I had reserved everything I wanted, for my 2006 use year, I'd have some points left over, which I'd bank for 2007. It was all settled - or so I thought. That's when it started to happen...

Hmmm... Let's see... I'm going in February for a few days. And then I'll be there for a whole week in October. But there's a lot of time between February and October. And I will have some leftover points for the year. And I might as well get some extra use out of the annual pass and the DDE card I just bought. And I could probaby get a cheap flight. And it won't cost me that many points if I just get a studio...

End result: Today I made a reservation for a two-night stay in June. (I was able to get an inexpensive flight, and I'm arriving early and leaving late, so it's essentially three full days there.) These extra little trips here and there are going to keep happening, aren't they?

Yes, it happens! I'm glad it's working out for you. It's been awhile since we've had any points to bank. I have 1 lone VB point left in my '06 use year, it's those little extra trips that are so special!

DDE plus AP plus cheap air plus DVC well....why not! If you can do it I say go for it and Enjoy it....I am in the same boat as you...and I love it!!!

then if you are like me, those quick trips get extended to full week. Just added on 3 nights to my Feb (quick trip). Only 39 more points? and I am all ready off work??? Too easy!!

Had to laugh because we have reserved a quick weekend in May to bridge the time between week-long trips (a whole 6 months). Took DS11 & DS8 to SWW this year on those extra few points & had a blast! DH has just recently gone into business for himself & we're taking a "wait & see" approach to the getaway this year.

Keep in mind that we will be in the world in a few weeks & are planning our 1st December visit in 15 years as well as our late summer/early fall trip (yes, that is 3 in '06) & I am stressing about how in the world I am going to last without that little getaway! As long as I can get good air I think I'm going to take the boys even if dad has to work

It is definately addictive!

Well, we bought 160 points at SSR in March 2005 and I'm already planning to add on 50-60 points in April. So, yes...it is a serious disease and you will most likely catch it as well.

Me to have done that. Just squeezed in an extra 8 nts in May! I have already borrowed 80 pts from 2007, so i can see an add on in the future! The other problem is the size thing - now it's getting more difficult to stay in anything smaller than a 2 bed.
