My lovely SIL has just been admitted to hospital and has been told she won't be travelling anywhere for a few weeks. So obviouslythey have had to cancel.
I now have the choice of going anyway by myself or trying to cancel with holiday insurance.
I'm meant to be eurostaring it on Monday to Explorers for 3 nights, they were meant to be arriving by ferry on monday to Cheyenne.
As we had booked entirely separate trips, separate hotels although we were obv on holiday together, do you think travel insurance will pay out?
Alternatively what do you think it will be like for a lone traveller?

I would suggest you phone the insurance company and ask although you may have problems because you are booked separately. I hope you manage to get this sorted soon and can plan another trip when your SIL is better

Obviously only your insurance company cant tell you for sure but i would imagine you won't be covered as it isn't you who is unwell or an imidiate family member, ie, mother, father, husband or child.

Hope your SIL is well soon and that you get everything sorted out :goodvibes
