Hi to all,

Just back from a WONDERFUL stay at our fav OKW!! This was our first time staying in a 2 bedroom...don't know how we will ever go back to anything smaller! We had a great 25th anniversary trip with our 2 DD and their friends (4 kids ranging from 16 to 20!) . Went to F&W, MNSSHP, and a day at Cocoa Beach. "Made" my husband wear an Anniversary button at the parks and dinner, after the first day, he loved the attention...CMs were great, sent us many well wishes, and a couple of shout outs to all those in listening range. Gave us our own boat on Small World, and a couple free deserts and tastes at F&W. OKW even sent balloons with an autographed picture to us from Snow White. Too cute!

Weather was iffy, caught alot of rain, but we never seem to mind when we're in the world.

Thanks to all on this great board for all your tips, advice and reports. My appreciation to you all!!!:cloud9:

Glad that you had such a wonderful anniversary trip!!! And as to the question how do you go back to a smaller room...well we have been spoiled with 2 bedrooms since we bought into the vacation club (3 trips). Then we went this past January and got 2 studios. In one was me, DH and DD. In the second were my parents, DS and DSgirlfriend. It worked out great for the short trip that we took. But the 2 trips before then, it was only 4 of us in a 2 bedroom. Our trip coming up in 10 days...will be 4 of us in a 1 bedroom. But we finally got reservations at BWV and didn't want to give up that resort, just for a bigger room. We will just have to suffer as we are walking to Epcot, or taking the boat to MGM.

Again, glad you had a great trip!!!

Happy Belated Anniversary! How nice that you got the special attention!

Bobbi:goodvibes

Congrats on the Anniversary!!

And the answer to your question is- you don't go back. Ever since our first time it's a 2 bedroom for us whenever we have DS and his buddy, DD and her hubby or even just DS! We're really spoiled!!:cool1:

I think you just got the "add-on-itis" bug. It is a horrible disease running rampant on these boards. I believe it is the only computer virus that is contagious just by looking at it.:lmao: :lmao:

I agree with a PP, you don't go back..next stop..grand villa:rotfl2:

Happy Anniversary! :goodvibes

We are a family who made the mistake of staying in a 2 bedroom the very first trip. We had to stay in a 1 bedroom on our last trip (pre-Disboards) and it was soooo hard!!!!

Now our family of four is smarter. We book at 11 months and we stay in a 2 bedroom! Yeah! We love our BWV! :goodvibes

Happy 25th!

You can't ever go back after staying in a 2 bedroom. We stayed in the first 2 bedroom before we were DVC members and only used a studio once. If there is more than three of us going it has to be a 2 bedroom.

Ok you're all officially making me nervous, my wife has already hinted that we need more points, and we haven't even made our first trip home :scared1:

Reading this thread has confirmed my suspicion. My DW and I have only stayed in studios so far, but our next trip is in a 2 bedroom at BWV. I thought we might be spoiled and would want more points for bigger rooms in the future, but now I know for sure it will happen.

It's nice to hear you had such a great trip! And I understand what you mean. We purchased our timeshare at SSR in March 2005 and took our first trip as members in August. We had 6 people and stayed at OKW. We always used to stay at a moderate resort, so it was wonderful having all of that space! We've done 2 DVC trips since then and both were in studios. But now we're going back in January and this time staying at a 2 bedroom again since we have 6 people. We're staying at SSR and I'm so excited about staying in a 2 bedroom again!

It is hard! My first trip was a two bedroom in HHI. At SSR we stayed in a one bedroom. I am going to Vero on Thanksgiving and I am forced to stay one night in a studio the rest in a one bedroom. I am dreading the studio. It is DH, myself DS9 and DD4. yikes!

Most of the time we stay in a 1BR b/c our youngest still fits in a pack-n-play.
Last trip we had some family members join us and we got a 2BR which did spoil us for future trips. Seeing as we are a family of 5 it's inevitable that we will stay in 2BRs for the forseeable future, unless my DH & I are traveling alone. That's why we took the DVC plunge...we knew we needed/wanted the extra space. Now there's no going back!! :)

I was afraid of all your answers! My DH isn't much of a traveler, and even he smiled ear to ear when we entered the 2BR! Oh well, we will just have to suffer through somehow and put up with all extra space..may have to do another small add on...oh geeze..just did that in August:rotfl:

Thanks for all the anniversary wishes! :thanks:

We (9 of us) stayed in a GV at SSR in September! It was AWESOME!!! WEll worth the points. I don't know how we could ever stay in a studio again! I know I sound snobby- but it was fabulous!

We had a 2 bedroom at VWL, my DSIL said in the parking lot, "Where is our room?" I said, "We have one room." He said, "What?" There were 6 of us. Way to many for one hotel room. When we walked in, he said, " this will work!" This Dec, we are going back to stay at Beach Club, I know we all will totally enjoy our beautiful 2 bedroom. :thumbsup2

Now, I am wondering how do you ever down side from a GV? The model at SSR is just beautiful!!!!;)

My husband-the conservative minimalist-said we would never need a 2 bedroom since we have one child. Well, when that child starting bringing a friend and the teenage years hit, I booked a two bedroom. Now, the conservative minimalist refuses to stay in anything other than a 2 bedroom now! Go figure!
:rotfl:

Happy Anniversary!

We LOVE our OKW 2 bedrooms, and have never failed to have at least one 2 bedroom trip a year for the past 10 years. But then, we RARELY stay in studios either. Even when it is just the 2 of us, we do the 1 bedroom.

We celebrated our 35 anniversary at WDW a few years ago, and got the same great treatment you did. The same thing happened on DH's 60th birthday. He thought he would hate the attention, but he loved it!

We just got back from our first trip "home." We made the "mistake" of staying in a GV! How cool! And it was great knowing that the other families (extended family) we went with were almost ready when it was time to go. No worries. Great communication and a great trip! But how do we ever go back to smaller accomodations?
