Is it stomach flu or flu as in a bad cold type. If it is the fever, and coughing I believe there is a flu medication that can be taken at onset. It is supposed to lessen the time of the flu. I don't know. Perhaps it is good for stomach flu too. All I heard is it has to be prescribed and it has to be taken right away. Have her call her doctor and explain what is going on and why she needs it. Good luck, hope she gets better.

Yes, there is a medication to lessen the duration and severity of the flu. Its called Tamiflu and a doctor does have to prescribe. The earlier your mother takes it, the better. I took it last year for the flu, and I got better within a few days. I don't think it works for the stomach virus, but stomach viruses usually only last 24 to 48 hours. Good luck, and I'll keep your family in my thoughts.

She's just so excited about the trip that it elevated her temperature.
There is no WAY she will miss this trip. Lots of fluids and TLC. All will be
