Oh no! Another Owner's Locker thread.

Do you have an Owner's Locker & if so, is it worth it?

  • Yes, we have one & love it, it's worth the money!

  • No, we would not spend $100 a year to store our stuff.

  • No, but we may sign up in the future.

I love my OL and would not be without it!

Their customer service is great also :thumbsup2

We also can travel with only carry-ons and computer case. The convenience is the biggest plus for us and the level of service offered by John and Brian is incredible!

Couldn't agree more, if you have to give money away can't think of 2 nicer guys to have to give it to.

Started with 1 now have 3:thumbsup2

I could never go back to DVC without Owner's Locker. Don't tell the OL folks but they could raise prices and I wouldn't even consider giving up my lockers. When I think of how much we spent to buy DVC plus maintenance fees plus park tickets plus rental cars plus food, etc.--the price of OL is NOTHING. And the convenience? PRICELESS!

OP here. Thanks for the responses! I really love the idea of being able to travel with just carry on if we were taking a shorter trip. No toiletries! My husband balked at that too, b/c he says he can use the toiletries that are provided by mousekeeping. Well, too bad the rest of us can't!

So I need some more support! Who else out there is loving their OL?

Oh but it's more than "just toiletries". It's my full size Olay Bath wash & my body scrubber shower thingy, band-aids & moleskin & blister block, slippers, Gas-X, Tums, Advil, DH's razor & shower mirror, "my" Dove shampoo & conditioner for color treated hair:rolleyes:, sunscreen, Q-tips....Captain Morgan :drinking:, wine glasses, coffee scoop & filters, a pair of sharp scissors, packing tape, rubber bands (never know what you have to McGyver), sewing kit, extra paper plates & sharp knives (we use studios), batteries, spray fan bottles (we go in the summer so it's HOT), lanyards & FP holders, pool bags, backpacks, collapsible coolers & blue ice... No resort provides all that!! YOU have to remember to BRING all that!!!!!!:faint:

My DH was a big doubter too. I went out & got a similar sized plastic bin & secretly started filling it with all this stuff I wanted to leave in FL.:rolleyes1 I worked on my "collection" for months. I kept a list in my purse. Everytime I went to Target or TJMaxx or Wal-Mart I bought something off my list and put it in the bin. Ponchos, mini umbrellas, can coozies, I had a 1/2 empty mousse & I just bought a new full one for home ETC. Before long the bin was FULL and I showed it to DH. Once he had a visual it helped a lot I think. I figured if he said NO again to the OL I would just leave it packed for our trips like I do with our "camping bins" and we'd schlep it in a checked bag each time. But I was determined to NOT have to round up all this stuff every time we went. Thankfully this time he agreed that it made sense. We transferred it all to a large box to ship it down for our first trip when we were getting the OL. It weighed 45 Lbs when I took it to the UPS store!!:wish45 That is one full full-size suitcase or duffle. That right there cuts down immediately on 1 checked bag because that's how much crap we all schelp with us. I find when I'm not thinking about bringing a little bit of everything I can concentrate on JUST the clothes we may need & it's much quicker & less of an ordeal to pack.

LOOK!! You already have 50 on your poll who agree!!!

Love our OL. We did the member cruise than 4 days at BCV. I was so occupied on what to take pack for the ship that I forgot to check on line as to what was in the locker before we left. When I opened it, it was like Christmas. I had forgot about all the neat stuff we had in the locker. We were able to wash clothes, have a great cup of coffee with the Keurig and a welcome home drink with the bottle of crown I had not finished from our February stay. The service is fantastic. The locker is always waiting for us when we arrive and after we depart an e-mail alert telling us when it's back in storage. Great service for the price.

Then meet John on Tuesday's in EPCOT ...France, and have a great time! :thumbsup2

What time is John there on Tuesdays? As a new OL member, I'd love to meet him during our trip next month. We have a 4pm Beverage Seminar and 6:30 Dinner reservations at Kouzzina on our Tuesday. Hope we'll be able to make it work.

John is around 7.30 till Illuminations :thumbsup2 We met some really lovely people in May at the OL evening :goodvibes

We only got our locker last trip but for the first time ever we went home with the same number of suitcases we arrived with and they were lighter and emptier! I alway shop whilst in FL as we can get stuff we can't get here in the UK so we usually end up with an extra case full of goodies on the way home:goodvibes

OP here. I also forgot to mention that while we ALWAYS fly down, on our next trip my Dad is driving down and meeting us. He lives right by us though, and I could pack up all my OL stuff and send it down with him! How easy is that?

So I told my DH it's now or never...

but I'm not showing him this thread until I am in the 80% range, so c'mon OL lovers....vote! :cheer2:

You forgot to ask if anyone has 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 etc. Owners Lockers. I have heard of a family that has 10.

We have 2 and couldn't be without them.

David

TEN!!! Good grief - they should just buy a condo.

We just got back from our first OL trip (unless you count the one where you initially get it). WOW, was it wonderful to be DONE packing for our trip the night before after the clothes were packed. None of that middle of the night- OH! I FORGOT TO PACK....:thumbsup2 My DH was not very enthusiastic forking over the $100 a year- until he experienced it himself. Now he is 100% convinced it is worth every penny. :goodvibes How nice to have our toiletries, bathrobe, ponchos, medicines, hairbrushes, batteries, Brita, sunscreen, lotion, vodka....all waiting for us when we arrive. It's like we own a vacation home, because we can just leave the stuff there. A great, GREAT service. LOVE IT!!!:lovestruc

I just signed up a few weeks ago and will use my OL for the first time for our Christmas trip. We decided to do it for many of the reasons that were already posted (less packing, are able to take carry ons and no checked bags, etc). To me yeah its so much a year to have but its less stressful for me when I'm packing for a trip and we normally go to Disney anywhere from 7 to 10 days.

I also liked that if we make a tradition of coming for Christmas every other year like we've been talking about then I can have Christmas ornaments in the OL to decorate our room.

We are going to Hilton Head in October and are soooooooo sad that we have to take all our Owners locker stuff in our bags this time. If they could just figure out how to service HHI, now that would be sweet.

I suspect that many of those that say "NO" might well change their minds if indeed they ever actually tried it. I was one of those naysayers myself, and now I am a huge fan - and proud OL owner! In fact, I'm pretty sure I was one of the first with two. I ended up downsizing to one, but only because moving within driving distance I am less likely to need some of the stuff I used to store in the second locker, like towels and sand toys for our "beach" portion of our trips (we no longer combine the beach/VB and WDW trips). I would not dream of giving up our OL, at least not without a HUGE fight!!

The bad news is, I think all the discounts have gone away - maybe John will stop by and confirm or correct this.
