Oh, darn it.

I just realized I booked a cruise for the wrong week. I was aiming for Patriots Day week which is school vacation week in MA. I just realized I booked the week before! I cannot believe that I did that. I just logged onto the DVC web site to check about booking BLT for two nights when I looked at the date.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I am not sure whether to laugh or cry!

So now what do I do?

Can I change the week I go? What if I booked through DVC?

Do we take the kids out of school that week?

Do we go on those dates and then stay longer at DW since we are going to be there already?

The plan was to go down on a Thursday to DW, go on the cruise on Sunday, and fly back on Thursday. They would only be missing two days of school at the beginning of the trip. Because we are booked the wrong week do we go down on a Saturday, go on the cruise on Sunday, go to DW on Thursday, and then stay there a few days? They would be out of school for 5 days.

Oh, oh, oh, I cannot believe I did that. I am usually really good with dates!

Ugh! I feel your pain! I'd cal first, and see if you can change the date...see what the penalty/cost difference is. Is airfare involved? I would think there would be more issues with trying to change that than anything. Good luck!

I just double checked everything and realized I did book the right week for the cruise but a little while ago booked the wrong week online when I went to book BLT. This is easier to fix. I emailed DVC and will call them in the morning. I booked the cruise so long ago and was obsessive with checking the dates because Patriots Day week was so early in April. The poor man making my reservation on the phone had to wait while I checked about 4 calendars because the dates did not seem right.

But, what threw me off on the date was the fact that at work there is a group planning a conference for Patriot's Day week. Now I have to break the news to that group that they have the wrong week. They kept telling me the dates of the conference so that is why I had the wrong dates of our trip stuck in my head. When we were going over the calendar for the spring of 2012 the dates just did not seem right. I knew that I would be away for the conference. Well better to find this all out now than later. When I went to book BLT I had the conference dates stuck in my head. Thank goodness I did not book airfare, something I was about to do.
