DW informed me we have to us our AA miles soon or they'll expire, so now we're booked for 9 nights in WDW in June for the Star Wars Weekend. Of course we'll miss going to DL for those days, but WDW will have to do.

It'll be fun to compare Small World, POTC, HM, etc to the originals.

You will love WDW, I am sure. You will also be able to see rides that were at WDW first (Space Mountain, Tower of Terror) and see how those compare. I am going on my first DL trip this year to DL. . . WDW is our "home" park . . . being on DIS I am sure you will be more than planned for your trip :)

Prepare for disaappointment. These Disneyland originals are much better at DL than WDW. If I were you I woudn't even go on POTC, you may cry. On the other hand, Big Thunder is better at WDW.

Not to be downer, you are going to love it at WDW. I was blown away my first time. "Disney has it's own FREEWAY??" It's a whole different experience.

I bet you'll love it! We did! Things are different, but when you walk into the Magic Kingdom and see the castle, you'll know you made a great choice.

We loved the rides at Magic Kingdom and do ride POTC - different doesn't mean worse.
We did miss Indiana Jones and were excited to ride Dinosaur, but were mildly disappointed. The ride follows the same track, but is in the dark a lot of the time. Less theming we thought, which we love about IJ. Make sure you ride MT. Everest - it wasn't ready when we were there, but remember them building.

WDW is a totally different experience. We loved the WDW resort atmosphere - stayed at Port Orleans Riverside. Beautiful theming at each hotel, done up Disney style, with nothing left untouched. It's like one huge resort with its own freeways, shopping, parks, etc. Unlike any other place in the world;) !!
Downtown Disney is incredible as well, more spectacular than DL and we loved the transportation from here to there. No complaints about transportation like I've heard on some threads - while yes, it could be crowded, people always made room for those who needed it, and I felt totally safe travelling around by myself when I wanted to go shopping alone, or wanted to go back to the hotel when the others weren't ready.

Enjoy - we did!

DLR and WDW are both fantastic in their own ways, but you definitely have to go expecting differences between the "land" and the "world"! :)
