We are flying home from Ca and Wanted to fly JetBlue out of Long Beach or LAX. Well they just posted their fares to JFK. 246 one way before taxes. Really wanted to fly JetBlue home. Any suggestions. Do you think this will go down?

I sure in heck hope so. I usually fly JetBlue and their prices are nearly double what they normally are from my home airport for a non-holiday period (mid-to-late August). It is really strange! The worst thing is that they have done away with the direct flights. So not only has the price almost doubled (not quite but close) but now the only flights have layovers.

I really thought they would be more competitive considering the Airtran/Southwest merger. AirTran has been a big player in our airport and the news stations say this will continue with Southwest. I would have thought that JetBlue needed to stay competitive with them.

I'm looking for my dd's graduation trip in mid-June....fares aren't 'horrible' but they sure aren't what I was hoping for. So...we'll just play the game and sit back and wait a bit to see if they lower the fares a bit. I really like to pay around $250 r/t, for direct flights out of Logan...so, we'll see what transpires in the next month or so...maybe even longer.

I guess I'm the opposite of everyone, rates for JetBlue just came out and they are cheaper then all other (283 where jb is 211 rt w/1 free check luggage). However I was planning on purchasing after christmas, now I don't know what to do. Do I tap into the xmas money or keep finger and toes crossed that I can still get a good price after xmas.

I'm a sit back and wait kind of person. I looked at the fares for my Spring trip and they are too high right now for me, plus I don't like the times for my return home. I remember when August 2011 was released, the prices were double what I was use to. By the time I was ready to buy (a couple of months before my trip) the price had dropped by 1/2, plus it continued to drop and I ended up with credits. I just finished buying my January fare, so no way am I ready to buy my April/May fare. I'm pretty flexible and will drop a day or add a day to get a better deal. I'll just add the info to my Yapta account and start watching. I sure hope they change the times though for my Dulles/MCO route as their really stink.

Have you checked Virgin America prices? i haven't lately but have had some great deals through their e-mails in the past. GREAT Airline!

Thanks I never thought of them but they also are 264 one way. But now I have another airline to keep checking. :)
