oh my gosh... I am stunned.

I will never post anything on craigslist again. Last summer I wanted to get rid of my BROKEN 57" screen TV. I figured somebody would use t for parts or pay to fix it. I didn't want any money for it - I just didn't want to throw it out if there was somebody that could do something with it.

Some guy responded and I told the guy it was broken but could be repaired for approx $400 and that the remote was missing and there was a small tear in the fabric over the speaker. Well the guys gets here and is PISSED that the remote was "gone"(it works on our other TV so we decided to keep it but we did tell him ahead of time it was gone -use a universal remote dude) and was pissy about the tear. He wanted US to PAY HIM to take it in that condition. Keep dreaming buddy.
For stuff like that, freecycle is the better way to go.

I'd go to her bank to cash that check!

Yes, they'd be able to tell you right then & there if there are funds in her account to cover the check. Nothing like being hit with a $25 check bouncing fee from your own bank by depositing it. :headache:

yeah we did a fund verification before cashing it.

In my defense, I waited, she said afternoon and I didnt leave until 5:30.
I figured she was a no show or she chose one of the other ones that she said she was looking at.

The nerve of some people! That is just crazy. I would NEVER do something like that!

You can not just leave cash... you need a reciept, signed!

I hope that check was not drawing on funds sent over from the guy in the middle east who needs help getting his money out of the country....

cashing at a branch of the bank that it is drawn on is a very good idea.

From her perspective, she had an agreement to come over and look at it and that she would buy it at your price if she liked it. Your not being home as the two of you discussed did not change the terms of the sale, so she consumated the deal.

If they didn't set a specific time other than the "afternoon" I can't blame OP for leaving. Some people say they will come right over and then never show up at all. Still doesn't give the buyer any right to go into her backyard, imo. What if OP had an attack dog or something like that, then the buyer will try to sue the OP and on from there I'm sure.

:lmao:This guy (or one of them) has contacted me before, he was even willing to give me "extra" money for my troubles. I just forward the email to craigslist fraud dept., but I'm sure there is nothing they can do. If the extra cash isn't a dead give away, the word "advert" is. :thumbsup2

How did she know that was the doghouse you were selling?

Right! Not to mention that there may have ben a dog in that enclosed yard that she entered w/o being invited.

OMG, what is wrong with people. Wow, some people are crazy.
