Hi there!

We are going to be there June 14-19. On June 15, we are celebrating our youngest daughters 9th birhtday!:cheer2:

This will be our second trip....we went in 07 and stayed at Embassy Suites Anaheim South...loved it!! BUT........

this time, we opted to stay at Residence Inn Resort (kids suite). Please...anyone out there...did we make a mistake? Any thoughts on Residence Inn Resort? :confused3

Also, since we have the five day HP...we want to get the birthday card that she can buy stuff with and not entry to park....what do we need to do for that and where do we go to receive it?

Many thanks all!!! :worship:

I know nothing about that hotel.

But you just need to take her gov't ID (birth certificate or passport for her) to a ticket booth, with her and her ticket, and they'll give you the options! You can sign up online, but it's not necessary (you'd still need to bring proof of age).

I haven't stayed at that property, but I used to work for Marriott and have stayed in quite a few RI's up here in the Bay Area. I don't think you will be disappointed! Marriott has pretty high standards, the rooms are usually quite large (did you get the studio, penthouse, or suite?), the kitchen is nice to store drinks and leftovers, they usually serve a nice breakfast and sometimes offer a happy hour of snacks.

We will be there at the same time as you, too! :wave2:

Thanks Monica!

We were able to reserve a "kids suite", where I believe my husband and I will have our own room; our 13 year old on the pull out; and our 11 year old and birthday girl will have the bunks!

Just curious because my kids were somewhat disappointed when I told them we were staying somewhere besides Embassy suites. (They loved the 14th floor there...I prayed nightly for NO EARTHQUAKES! :scared:being on that floor!!). I am a mountain girl...I hope to not experience one...especially not on the 14th floor! No really...I could not pass up the price for RI. :thumbsup2

Which Residence Inn? Maingate or Garden Grove? I've personally read great reviews on both.

Brother and his family stayed there last year and really liked the hotel very much! They were very pleased. The only disadvantage is that it is too far for little ones to walk. I mean, you can do it, but you'd be tired before you get to the gates. They tried to use ART, which turned out to be very hit-or-miss. Sometimes they just gave up and took a taxi, which cost them about $7 each way. On the other hand, some people have had good luck with the ART system.

Thanks all for your comments and infomation on B-day card!! Only 35 more days!!!! I cannot stop looking at things. :3dglasses

Any news on if Disneyland does anything for Flag day? This is our first day there...so curious!

Thanks again for the information:worship:

She probably means Anaheim Resort, which means it's the Residence Inn that is pretty much in the same parking lot as the Embassy Suites South. There's also another Residence Inn that is much closer to the Disneyland Resort, which is called the Anaheim Residence Inn Maingate.
